Unexpected rapid weight loss/gain
In 2014 I unexpectedly lost almost 185 pounds for no known reason. I saw my doctor, specialists and physical therapists to find out if something was going on. They never found anything so they chalked it up to depression and anxiety. We were experiencing an extremely stressful time in our family and I could do nothing to help. There was no exercise involved as I suffer from debilitating back pain after seven terribly unsuccessful back surgeries.
I'm not complaining at all. I was thrilled with the weight loss until I started looking like an 80 year old skeleton covered in loose skin. My son got married early in 2015 and there are very, very few photos of me because I looked like I was dying and didn't want to have that mar their day's memories.
I finally started gaining some weight back in late 2015 and felt best at around 165 - 175 pounds. I have had a serious weight problem my whole life so all the extra skin and very dense bones made me look sickly at 135 pounds. Well, I did gain up to 176 and felt great, except for the back.
I had emergency surgery for intestinal blockage in November, 2016 and since that time I have been ravenous and can hold much more food than before the surgery.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through something like this and how they handled the experience. I started using FitDay.com again this week and have lost four of the 40 pounds I want to lose. That's 10% already! Yes, I know it's mostly water but a pound is a pound, and as long as I can get back into my size 12 jeans again, I'll be happy.
For all people of faith, I would appreciate any prayers you would lift up for me.
Blessings!
