I was in the best shape of my life last july/august/September... then the cold started in and lasted sooooo long. I started eating processed snacks. I typically only eat organic, and raw as much as possible, but last winter , I started in on the popcorn and tortilla chips. I never felt full and would eat and eat. Eating the toxins caused me to have a lot of negative feelings and bad moods, a terrible endless cycle that lasted for months. I would try to bring myself out of it but couldn't. I had no motivation to work out and ended up gaining 10lbs. .... I started to cut out the junk food in September of this year because of my sisters wedding. This is what finally got me started eating right again.... and then today is the 6th day that ive been exercising. Yesterday I came back to fit day and started logging my foods. Keeping track of calories and nutrition is just the thing I needed to feel good and get back on track. My goal is to lose 6.2lbs by Thanksgiving, and then another 3 or 4 before Christmas...then id really like to maintain weight and focus on endurance and muscle. I know that 9 or 10 lbs is not that far from my goal and so thought that this was the appropriate place to post this... Wish me luck and hope to meet some friends on here.

Update... Ive been exercising daily for 10 days, weighing/measuring and logging my foods religiously for 7 days. Ive been averaging between 1000 and 1200 calories per day and doing 20 - 40 minutes of cardio and muscle toning exercising. Today is my next weigh in... Started off at 133.2 lb on October 25th, today I am 128.6 lbs, yay!
Im 5'8" and know I am in a healthy weight range already, but looking to tone up and be around 123-125, ONLY because I know I put on weight around the holidays...so leaving a little room there to enjoy the occasional Christmas Cookie!

Winter can be kind of a downer. We go from summer, where the sun stays out until after 8 P.M., outdoor cocktails are the norm, and clothing is light and airy, to winter, where it’s dark, cold, and we have to trudge through snow in a bulky coat and boots. Another complaint a lot of people have once temps drop and self-imposed hibernation begins: winter weight gain.
