how long did it take to reach your goal weight
Hi Everyone, I'm new here and have been reading the success stories. I've started last month eating healthier (salads, no rice,no pasta but I eat bread once in a while :( ) and drinking loads of water. I don't have time to exercise at a gym but I walk about when I can and even take the stairs from the 6th floor (going to start walking up from next week, but at least I'm starting :D).
I currently weigh 216.6 lbs and have given myself to October 1st to weigh 190lbs, do you think it's feasible? How long did you guys take to reach your goal weight? |
About 6 months (originally).
|
I've never reached full goal weight but it took 17 months to lose 100lbs. Then I gained back 33 of it over the next 18 months. :(
|
I've always heard that 1-2 lbs a week was a good rate of loss. If you lost just 1 lb a week you would reach your goal by October 1st.

Hey, you're still down 67 pounds. I'm almost back to my starting weight.

Then it's time to get this party started!

I only do it with regular fixed plan. Never lose my confidence.

Party? Who's bringing the cake?:D

Hi guys, just sharing that I lost a pound this week. I'm seeing the lost of inches and pounds. I'm further motivated :D
|
Do it!
A handy "new" (to me) trick I am using is to keep my fat pic on my PC all the time. I came across a photo of me that I was AGHAST at. It's easy to kid yourself about how you truly look (the size). I also think it helps having a buddy (my daughter is on this "journey" with me this time)....you can't let the other one down. You can do it with one pound a week...so go for it :)

It's a good trick. However, don't beat yourself up too much about that photo. Even the most glamorous people can look bad in a photograph.
If it helps you with your weight loss program, it's worth looking at every day, though! |
Before I reached where I wanted to, it took me more than a year. However, the issue is that once you reach your goals, you start setting new goals. That is what keeps me motivated each time. Maybe it didn’t have to do with weight, maybe I just wanted to be able to run a mile faster. But my initial progress took me more than one whole year.
