Dressing rooms!
Ok! Poll time:
Which is worse:
a) Dressing rooms with bad lighting the make you look terrible
b) Dressing rooms with "skinny" mirrors, that are curved to make you look thinner, and are misleading

I cannot for the life of me figure out why retailer do not bend over backwards to help people feel good about themselves when they are trying on new clothes. Softer lighting, better mirrors, more room to move around in. Isn't it their job it sell clothing???

Pam,
I actually use to work for a clothing store (Express), and stores should have better lighting and mirrors in the dressing rooms, but most of the people come out the fitting rooms to see how they look. IMO mirrors and lighting don't do as much for sales as vanity sizing does. Express was notorious for vanity sizing. Take a size 4 pair of jeans and label it as a size 2 and watch it fly out the door. Much of their clothes are sized down by 1 size. Most of what I own is Express, not b/c of the vanity sizing but I do like their clothes. I can say that my size 32 jeans are baggy around the waist, and I know I'm not a 32!

Omg I LOVE express, but so not their price tags! And vanity sizing sucks because I have to try on everything everywhere. I can't say oh I'm size (x), because (x) at Express isn't the same as (x) at American Eagle or (x) at Rue 21! I like Goodwill, for some reason their dressing rooms don't bother me and I don't feel pressured by sizes. And their prices rock!

I love dressing rooms! But not the ones with bad lighting, I mean I don't mind looking "bad" or anything but I just don't like bad lighting. I prefer to see what I'm trying on
I love to go to the mall with my friends and just try on clothes all day.

Dressing rooms with "skinny mirrors" win!
#1 - makes me feel good to look good.
#2 - When I buy stuff I feel good (retail therapy is wonderful)
#3 - When we buy stuff we help improve the economy
#4 - when I realize it doesn't look the same on me at home - I go buy a new mirror... repeat step#2.
