Question Net carbs?

So I’m trying to keep carb count under control. At day’s end, my graph shows 187 grams of carbs, and 42 grams of fiber. Can I / should I subtract the fiber from the carbs to get net carbs, or does the program do that for me (I.e.: is the 187 my total carb intake or actual net carb intake)?

The program does not do that for you. Should you subtract the fiber to get the net carbs? I guess it depends on what diet you are following - a lot of low-carb diets use that method. I think the Atkins diet does that, for example.

Thanks, Kathy. I think that by keeping my fiber intake as high as I can, it does reduce net carb intake and helps my sugar count stay ‘in bounds’...

Net carbs are the carbohydrates in food that affect your blood sugar levels. To calculate them, subtract the fiber and sugar alcohols from the total carbs. It's helpful for low-carb diets.
