Skim Milk or whole milk?

I've been drinking skim milk for years after a dietitian suggested I make the change. A personal trainer just recommend that at age 40, if I want to be able to build any kind of muscle, I need to be drinking whole milk! I don't think I could go from skim to whole on just the advice of a trainer, but he does have me looking for information. Does anyone have advice on this issue?

Ask your personal trainer if the fat in the milk is what is going to build muscle or the protein. If it's the protein, skim milk has more protein (not much more but more). Also, skim milk has fewer calories.

Unless you drink huge amounts of milk, I don't think changing will make much difference. You would be far better off getting some protein shakes.
