Saturated fat...

So I already eat hardly any processed foods. But as an example of what I eat, you can look at my 'Intro' post in the Newcomers forum. Here's a fairly typical day's breakdown:

GRAMS CAL % CALS
Calories 874
Fat 27 236.4 27.1
Saturated Fat 9.97 88.1 37.2
Polyunsaturated Fat 3.67 31 13.1
Monounsaturated Fat 9.51 84.2 35.6
Carbohydrates 113.6 341.1 39
Dietary Fiber 23.2
Protein 59.6 210.9 24.1
Alcohol 0 0 0

37.2% of my calories come from saturated fat... any idea how to cut this down? I try to eat as little beef as possible, but I usually end up eating 2-5 ounces a day.

Can you buy chicken breasts and have them skinless and bonesless? They are lower in saturated fat because they are lower in fat - period.

Oils have saturated fat. Even the vegan oils that are plant-based!

All you can do is try to cut the oil (and the eggs, which have sat fat) and most meat. Something like flounder, cooked with no oil - has little saturated fat. Salmon, on the other hand, has a good amount of sat fat, almost like meat!

Non-fat cottage cheese is pretty low in sat fat.

Animal products contain a fair amount of saturated fat. I would suggest cooking without fat if possible, and trying to get your fat from other sources such as nuts. Also having leaner meats such as chicken breast, turkey breast and white fish. Eat plenty of fruit and veg too :)

What is "hardly" any processed foods? Fat is not bad for you, your body needs them, otherwise you will never feel full, and also the vitamins that you get from the veg you eat can't be absorbed without fat. I would entirely skip processed foods, and focus on high-quality ingredients. Beef is great, cut out carbs rather than fat, it keeps you fuller! Also, despite common belief, fat doesn't make you fat, carbs and sugar do.
