Default Glad to be here

Hello everyone, my name is Helena. I am a 36 year old woman who lives in Massachusetts. I joined Fitday last year, and I'm hoping this new year I'll be able to make a commitment to be healthier and happier. I am 5 foot 8 inches tall and weigh 190 lbs. These past two years have been difficult ones. I was hospitalized for a mental illness and have seen my physical and mental health go up and down. In the past, I've had several gym memberships and gave up after a few weeks. I've tried dieting in the past only to give it up. I'm hoping this year I will be able to get a job, see a nutritionist, and work on being a healthier person. I'm a little nervous because I've tried and failed so many times in the past, I don't want to do it again. Fitday seems to me to be a good website, where I can track what I eat and register my weight goals. Hopefully with the right foods and the right exercise regiman, I will regain confidence in myself and be able to conquer my illness.

Helena, welcome!

This is THE place to be to help you lose weight and get fit.

It sounds like you're ready to make the lifestyle changes you need to and I applaude that!

Please do participate in the forums if you've a mind to, many (myself included) find the mutual support very helpful in keeping on track and motivated.

Regards,
Michael

Hi Helena
Welcome, I'm glad to meet you. What a great way to start you New Year. Here's hoping that you stick with us, 'cuz I am pretty sure that if you do, you will succeed. There's nothing better for your physical and mental health than feeling like you are in control. FitDay has helped so many of us do just that.

There are a ton of people here who share your struggles and who are here to offer an ear when you need to vent, and big (cyber) pats on the back as you conquer your goals.

Check into the women's section. The "motivation" thread is very active (maybe over active sometimes ), and there are several threads in the exercise section that may help keep you motivated to keep moving.

Hope to see you there!
