Hi everyone,

I'm trying to follow the Low Carbs High Fat way of living. I didn't really realise how many carbs I was consuming until I stumbled on Fitday today. And I thought I was keeping the count fairly low... It works out I'm consuming a high amount of fat, then carbs and lowest is protein.

Anyone else following this way of life with some tips as to how to swap the carb/ protein count without turning into an all out carnivore?

:confused:Sounds to me like low protein & high fat. I've done low carb, high fat with great success but was actually low on carb... not protein. What do your macros look like and how many calories are you eating?

Thanks for the response :). It's encouraging to hear someone else say they've had great success on the LCHF. I've been trying to shift a relatively small amount of very stubborn stomach fat... Hence the username!!

I'm fairly sure even with this level of carbs, the signs of ketosis are prominant and I feel fairly confident that my stomach line is getting narrower.

Bearing in mind I entered the data last thing at night, if memory serves correctly, I consumed just over 1800 calories yesterday, of which, fat was 62%, carbs 21% and protein 17%. Carbs are tricky things to shake! I might try going for more fish...

Any guidance will be well received.
Many thanks.

p.s. I've just seen your before and after pictures. Congratulations on the weight loss and increased health!

Tip: Look into drinking green tea, and taking Choline-Inositol as a supplement. Do a thorough google search then you decide if it's worth a shot. I believe that they have not only helped me lose weight, but now that I've hit my goal weight my gut is still shrinking. Of course I continue to eat clean although the amount of calories are for maintenance now.

You'll see my macros are vastly different from yours:
