New to Fit Day
Hey everyone I'm new here and very excited about my new journey of losing weight. I had a baby 7 1/2 months ago and now it's time to lose that weight. I weigh more now than I have ever in my life and it really makes me feel very unattractive even to my husband. It's hard for me to change my eating habits when my husband doesn't want to change his eating habits (and he should) so I am making small changes. As of today it has been 8 days since I have had any cokes, fast food or sweets and I am very proud of myself because I love cokes and sweets, but I know the little changes will make a difference.

Christina, welcome to FitDay and the forums!
Congrats on deciding to kick the soda habit--that's a great start. As far as other family members not being supportive, well, that's often par for the course. In the end, the decision to get fit is a personal one, and one that we sometimes have to take alone. If you find yourself needing support, this is the place--don't be a stranger.
Regards,
Michael

It can take a while to swing the DH in the right direction, and there is certainly going to be some grumbling over it. Just be firm and consistent, and make it very clear that if he wants to continue to eat garbage, he'll be put in charge of his own cooking and shopping . Besides you're not doing this to hurt him, just the opposite.

Thanks
Thanks for the support I know I'm going to need it! I need to find some aerobic activity I can do at home. Once again thanks for the support, I know I can reach my goals with the help of Fit Day. It will be a long journey for me but I can do it!

Here's an aerobic activity I wish I had started when I had my first baby: put on comfortable walking shoes, don't overthink dressing for this activity, put the baby in the stroller/carriage, all comfy, and walk every single day. Good long walks, once in the morning and once in late afternoon. There are some great tools on the Internet for mapping your walk and knowing how much distance you've traveled. Use fitday to bolster your resolve to build activity (log your walking). Start from there. Be patient. You'll see results and you'll be much more relaxed about dieting - physical activity helps relieve stress. In this case, it also 'buys you time' away from food decisions in the house.
