Best sailing watches for regattas

I’m getting more serious about local regattas and I think it’s time I upgrade from my basic wristwatch. I’ve seen people talk about the optimum time sailing watch, but I’m not sure which model is actually worth the money. What do you guys recommend for racing – especially for countdown accuracy and durability?

If you’re starting to race regularly, investing in a good optimum time sailing watch https://yacht-supply24.com/catalog/l.../optimum-time/ is a great move. I’ve been racing in club regattas for years and this watch has become my most-used piece of gear after my lifejacket. The big advantage is its oversized digits and audible countdown alerts — you’ll never miss a start even in noisy conditions. The buttons are huge (easy to hit with gloves), and the strap is long enough to fit over any jacket or wetsuit. Plus, it’s waterproof and built to handle salt spray and impact. Mine has taken a serious beating and still works flawlessly. Whether you race dinghies or keelboats, this thing is a must-have.

In this case, you should definitely use yacht charters in the mediterranean The Sailica service website has a lot of different options for rent, including sailing. And although I am far from it, I often use its services while on vacation to enjoy another sea walk, which brings me an ocean of pleasure.

The Optimum Time Series 11 is what most club racers rely on and for good reason. Countdown accuracy is spot on, buttons are easy to hit mid race, and it handles saltwater abuse without flinching.

If you want a bigger display the Series 14 is worth the extra spend, though some sailors pair their regatta timer with a Rolex super clone for off the water style without breaking the bank. For GPS and tidal data the Garmin Quatix 7 is excellent but overkill for local regattas.

Start with the Series 11 and you will not be disappointed.
