Weight gain due to medications?
Hi there!
My name is Kay, and I'm a 21-year-old art student in San Francisco. I'm 5'5" and weigh approximately 160 pounds. Normally my weight ranges from 110 to 120. I was prescribed Abilify for my biolar disorder, and it has caused me to gain a lot of weight; my psychiatrist has cut back on the dosage, hoping that my appetite will decrease.
I'm going on a diet tomorrow, and am going to start running like I used to.
I was just wondering if anyone else here has had issues with their weight due to the effects of a prescribed medication? It'd be nice to know I'm not alone...
Happy to be here.

Welcome to FitDay and the forums. I'm afraid I have no first-hand experience with that substance and it's side effects but I'm sure someone here must have.
In any event, it wouldn't hurt to start logging your food and exercise just to get a base line of where your're at. The more data you have, the easier it may be to come up with a plan to lose and maintain your weight.
Regards,
Michael
