Cool New here!

Hello, everyone, I'm Mary. My doctor recently put me on a low-carb, high-fat diet and I've done pretty well for about a week and 3 days. The only problem is that I can't eat at specific times because of my job so sometimes I accidentally fast until the afternoon when I have my first meal. Of course, since starting this diet I've cooked all my meals at home. I haven't eaten a single thing outside of the menu I was given.

It's only been a week, I know nothing is going to change so soon. However, if I'm eating low carbs and keeping my daily calorie intake at about 900-1100, shouldn't I at least not feel so heavy still? The day of my first appointment with the doctor I weighed 223lbs and I'm 5'2, so I was told my ideal weight is 132lbs. I haven't had a chance to weigh myself because I don't own a scale and my next appointment is on Thursday. But ugh, I walk and still feel ridiculously heavy. I thought at least the first water weight loss would make me feel better.

Is weight loss so slow and unnoticeable at first? Should I just not worry over a single week? Maybe it is too soon to tell.

It's only been a week! Give it some time. As long as your doctor approves of your diet, you are on the right track, health-wise. You may 'feel heavy' but feelings come and go.

There are going to be days when you feel light. The results at the scale aren't going to necessarily line up with those feelings but your efforts (as you describe them) will result in weight loss.

Good luck!
