I seem to be shuffling the same 2 pounds back and forth. While I am now shuffling at a lower weight than I was I feel like I need to make some big change to get those last five pounds off. I am thinking of limiting myself from 800-1000 calories but honestly don't know if I could stick to that or if it would be healthy. I have been walking, trying to up my activity as much as my body can stand. Hmmmm... seems my body wants to be this weight. Heavy sigh.

I'm not sure what I mean either, hmm, other than the news said there is an ad for the Bay of Fundy at times square.

How frustrating to be within 5 pounds of your goals weight and then just sitting there. I think there is a set point. I think reducing your cals so much would help but it would be temporary (and frustrating). Increase muscle mass?!

Goals for the week:
  • Log everything, no exceptions: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (Friday: even though it wasn't pretty), yes (Saturday: a calorie disaster day )
  • At least 1500ml water per day: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, 2000ml
  • Maintain 4-week 1500-1600 calorie average: 1603, 1592, 1589, 1559, 1595 (Friday: Uh oh, creeping up...), 1591
  • Maintain 4-week 1500mg (or less) sodium average: 1324, 1317, 1355, 1310, 1285, 1282
  • Study every day: yes, yes, yes, yes, yes
First, the bad news: Yesterday was a calorie disaster! The family wanted *insert name of diet-buster fast-food here*, which we have maybe 4-5 times a year, and the temptation was too much to resist. Result? A nearly 1900 calorie day, which will eventually wreak havoc with my already-too-high 4-week average. And we won't even talk about what it will do to the sodium . /sigh but it was soooooooo good and, hey, I need that every now and then.

Now the better news: In a feeble attempt to counteract the not-so-good calorie/sodium day, I upped the water a bit. Managed to shove in an additional 500ml. I was so full of salt, I was thirsty!

And finally, the good news: Today I dipped a toenail into the next decade down! Woot woot! Will I stay there? I highly doubt it. I weigh daily, so I'm used to up, down, up, down. But now, having touched it, I know 1) it IS a possibility and 2) the scale is not broken . I'll see it again, that I'm sure of.

-----------------------------

Mike, I was wondering where everyone was yesterday, too! Maybe out enjoying the weather?

Carolyn, I like that image! Slender, lithe, pixie -- yes, please!

Sissy, Garrett's story is hilarious!!! Thanks for sharing! Oh, by the way, did the cake make it to work unscathed?

Robin, glad you're feeling better!

Hope, are you using any sort of flashcard system for learning Spanish vocab? There are so many to choose from, both online and/or available as apps.

Have a great Sunday, folks!

Robin, I m not in Times Square often but if I am, I will look. I woudl lov eto increase muscle mass.

Epixi, woot woot on the loss, despite the calorie/sodium landmine. Upping the water was a good idea. You are wise in knowing fluctuations are part of it.

Hope - in previous weeks, I had been keeping calories around 1200-1400/day. Last week, in an effort to break out of a 2-week plateau, I changed my goal to under 1200/day. I had a couple of days where I ended up eating about 1000 calories. I wasn't trying to go that low, it just happened. I wasn't any more hungry than usual on those days - just the usual late-night cravings (which I managed to resist!!!). Weigh-in is tomorrow morning, so I'll see how my lower calorie week worked.

Robin - I'm so glad your back is feeling better and healing. I've known several people with chronic back pain, and when I've hurt my back, besides the pain, I stress myself out with worrrying that it might be forever.

epixie - You ate more calories than you intended to yesterday - but 1900 calories for the day isn't a huge blowout. That's probably about what you should be eating if you weren't trying to lose weight. I'm guessing that you probably ate less of the diet-buster food than you would have in the past - if so, that's at least a small success. In any case, today's a new day, so onward and downward (calorie wise).

***
1. Calories under 1200 (I've lowered it this week) 987, 1253, 962, 1060, 1106
2. An hour extra movement a day Y, Y, N, Y, Y
3. No sugar, white flour Y, Y, Y, Y, Y
4. Small bites and put fork down between bites.-Working on it and I'm remembering to do it more often.

Hi everyone. I am here, just reading posts this weekend. Been a busy weekend. Mom and I are going to Toronto for my niece's first birthday so we went and got our train tickets today. Seat sale 50% off. A little bit stressful because my brother didn't want to work with us transportation wise so we did it on our own!!

Great job this week.

Well.... I am clean shaven. Johnny's wife texted me yesterday and said that he had to shave because he's going to be meeting with the media before long. She told me that our other buddy also shaved so I was next.

Hey Jenn sorry to hear that it's been stressful, that brother again.

Well it's Sun night and continues to be bitter cold out. This is unseasonable. It's the wind. Nonetheless I managed 15k this week.

Started teaching yoga again tonight. A nice small group of ladies. Wish I could get some men in to class but haven't figured out how to do that.
