Robin, hi. Aw, that must have been really upsetting for your son to park just fine and then forgetting to signal. I can see how he'd forget--I doubt I'd think to signal if I was in a vacant lot with no cars behind me. I hope you enjoy your shrimp in quinoa. We're having cod--my favorite fish. Stay safe and warm in the snowstorm.
Cassie, I know the feeling. I just this morning had the nerve to get on my scale, but was delighted to find I'm only 1.5 lbs. above where I left off--and some of that may be excess water. That's great your DH can do your tax returns, too. I can understand it being even more of a pain to gather all the forms, statements, and spreadsheets and make an appointment for someone else to do the return. So I must admit that even if my DH was willing to pay a tax preparer, I'd probably just go ahead and do it myself anyway. Aw, thanks for asking. GD is feeling just fine. She thought she had the beginnings of morning sickness, but it was only two days and then stopped. She's eating very healthfully. She's been having fun shopping and has decided on Winnie the Pooh for her nursery theme--which surprised me until I recalled how much she loved Winnie the Pooh as a child. Again, great job on your FitDay reports--and yesterday was pretty darned good, too! I, too, need to get cracking on exercise and water--been slacking there. Ooh, that scone sounds so yummy, especially with tea! Very English of you, my deah! Have fun with the paralell parking. Such an exciting time. :) Donna, I agree with Cassie that you did a great job despite the cookies. Great job on your dietary cholesterol! Do you feel any better eating more protein? Congrats on starting your taxes. I hope you find some nice credits. I was tickled to find residential energy savings credits that I almost let slip by for insulation work and a new entry door. I was thinking it was done in late 2011, but I got off my lazy butt to go double-check my invoices and found it was from Feb. 2012. :) I'm restarting my Mindset Makeover tomorrow. I fell off the wagon when I hurt my back last week and couldn't exercise but I'm all better now. I do feel better than when I first started, but not like a new woman. Hoping to be tomorrow at where I left off--at 119.5 after shedding what I think could be 1.5 lbs. of water retention. I know the program works for me--just have to do the whole thing. |

Mern, it must have been a taxing weekend. You finished your taxes and I started mine. I used to do mine so I could ferret out all the nooks and crannies of credits and deductions, but I'm getting a bit lazy in that regard. Tomorrow is the ultimate day of you Mindset Makeover, isn't it? Do you feel like a new woman? - Donna http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps6d41995b.jpg And look what is rolling around the corner! A brand new king cake! woooooo. This luxurious cake is spacious enough to take care of you and your family. This super deluxe beauty comes with a variety of interior options, that are open for your choosing. Just PM me your address and I'll see that you get it for next year. |
OMG, that post brought back many memories of sick days on the couch as a child with Bob Barker.
 Okay, maybe the wording on that was bad. |
Mike that picture is hilarious!
Wow, congrats to all the weekend warriors! Not feeling very hungry today--TTOM. Tomorrow I have to get back to exercising. Jenn |

Actually, I had a serious crush on Bob Barker as a child. Him and Mr. Rogers :p. I think that's the first time I've admitted that in public.
|
OK Cassie, not even sure how to respond to that. Okay then...
Mike, now I get it. I couldn't post Sat morning; I was trying to observe Sabbath. Did anyone ever see The Big Leibowski? ("Dude, you know I don't bowl on Shabbos. " "You're not even Jewish, man, your ex wife was." "Yeah but still...") I am misquoting wildly here. Cassie, Bob Barker? Really? I guess Mike is right: it could be Drew... |

hi
I see you've all had a great weekend between Bob Barker, movies, taxes & driving tests LOL. My phsyio went OK except for him telling me I have a frozen shoulder now. OMG what next. Sounds like some painful treatment coming up :( Not been too too bad over the weekend although I did indulge in a small DQ blizzard, it's been a long time so I found a reason to justify it - not good I know but it was LOL. I'm avoiding the scale for a few days anyway. Hope everyone has a great week coming up. Have to go do my shoulder exercises now, ciao

Jezzie, I hope your shoulder heals up soon. My son and I have both struggled with ours. Exercise 5 times this week. One, Two, Three, Four 3. Log everything. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes 4. Eat clean; no trigger foods. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Oops, Oops again 5. 64 oz. fluids daily. Yes, Yes, Nope, No, Lost track but I think so, Pretty sure, Pretty sure 6. Take vitamins and supplements. Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Yes, Yes, Yes Overall, my weekly calorie avg was 1268, so I'm considering goal #1 a win. |
I'm just about to head out for my first workout of the day, but thought I'd stop by and say Hi! Looks like some people have been having a lot of fun lately!!!
I dropped 3lbs last week despite having a pretty blow-out weekend, so I can't be too unhappy. I'll read the thread from beginning to end when I get back. Have a fittastic Monday!!! |
Sugar, Sugar
MIKE! <Donna Jumps Up> THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your offer of a King Cake! BUT, I'm going to have to respectfully decline, (for reasons that will soon be obvious.) Here's what I'd like instead. Can you, as SUPER Moderator, ask Tech support to respond to my post about adding sugar to the Log DB?
It's been a while since I've seen a report about server issues, so I'm assuming the worst of that may be behind them. And I also believe they did (at least) one code update in the last week or so. Can we ask them to give an estimate on my request regarding sugar, that I'll quote below. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Much, much more than a king cake. I'm really tired of my goals saying "Sugar < (??? g)." And, sugar has been a real source of, um, inflammation for me lately. - Donna

I've got a rant I'd like to get off my chest. I know Fitday has had a lot of issues lately with their server systems administration, but once they have this resolved, I hope they will address another shortcoming they've had for a while - They should update the Nutrition Facts label in the food log section to match the one mandated by the FDA.
Where does it differ? Fitday does not have the entry that specifies Sugar. The Sugar item was added to the Fed regulations for food labeling in 2006 - I looked it up. ( See Nutrition Labeling of Food: “Sugars” - US Code of Fed Regs, Title 21, Sect. 101.9(c)(6)(ii) ) The USDA database has contained this data for several years, (since ~ 2008, I believe.) So, I'm hoping that Fitday can update their db so this can be logged and tracked like other nutrition components, in the near future. This would be a big help to people who would like to quantify their sugar intake in their [food] journal. I've read comments in the past that with some nebulous mentions that this may be forthcoming, but never any assurances that work on adding 'Sugar' to the Food Log was underway. Can anyone confirm or deny rumors of the impending introduction of Sugar to the food log? |
Sunday Recap
Cholesterol Ave: 175 Protein Ave: 75 Calories Ave: 1645 Not enough vegetables Sugar out of control. If I could measure it, I'd do much better in this area. - Donna |
PS
Great Mardi Gras pic! Looks like y'all had a great time!

I passed this on. If you change your mind about the king cake, just let me know.:)
