First day of dieting and already gone wrong :(

Hi guys so today is the first day of starting my diet. It was all going so well then I ate 6 biscuits :( feel quite disappointed in myself that I didn't even manage day 1...

Gained almost 2 stone during pregnancy and in the 10 months following.

Any support and tips would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone!

You can always 'reset' your start day - make tomorrow your day 1!

be a little serious... use a reminder wristbands with slogan like "On Diet" which remind you again and again that you are on a diet..

Hello Dee091093
With any diet, or health/weight management program, there are going to be good days and bad days. As Kathy says you can always start over or just try again the next day.
My week didn’t go as well, I’m back up to 44 lbs to lose, started with 47.

Fitday is a good source of tips, tricks and motivation for me. Thanks everyone!

Don't be so hard on yourself, I am there too. I find if my nutrition is off I crave carbs and yes I could eat six biscuits with gravy....and still not feel satisfied. I use the nutrition section of my tracker to keep my body nourished and I find when I am getting everything my body needs I don't have the cravings and sometimes I even have to have a snack to keep my calories up. Focus on health, your skin will love you, and the cravings and overeating will subside. Try to get your nutrients from food for a week, you will be amazed. The list below was about 900 calories of food, so I need 700 more calories, but the nutrition is done. When I don't get all these I don't lose weight and I feel crappy.
Vitamin A 1670.2 mcg 700 239% Magnesium 160.62 mg 320 50%
Vitamin A 1000 IU — — Manganese 1.97 mg 1.8 110%
Vitamin B6 2.9 mg 1.5 194% Niacin 24.82 mg 14 177%
Vitamin B12 6.8 mcg 2.4 285% Pant. Acid 11.01 mg 5 220%
Vitamin C 175.1 mg 75 233% Phosphorous 1000.6 mg 700 143%
Vitamin D 9.59 mcg 10 96% Potassium 2396.15 mg 4700 51%
Vitamin D 383.71 IU — — Riboflavin 2.32 mg 1.1 211%
Vitamin E 17.58 mg 15 117% Selenium 149.1 mcg 55 271%
Vitamin E 26.24 IU — — Sodium 2457.59 mg 1300 189%
Calcium 2768.18 mg 1200 231% Thiamin 1.89 mg 1.1 172%
Cholesterol 118.58 mg — — Water 1000 g — —
Copper 0.77 mg 0.9 85% Zinc 17.8 mg 8 222%
Iron 21.84 mg 8 273%

Interesting about the nutrition and carb cravings Einstien, thank you.

I just find that anything that is pre-processed bumps the appetite, like bread, pasta, sweets, etc. If it is boiled potatoes, grains or beans that I have cooked myself, it's okay, obv. with bunch of fresh meat and vegg. Anyway, not eating any processed stuff does the trick for me, more or less. Or maybe it's just the process of peeling, chopping, cooking that helps to anticipate eating and appreciate food more, etc. I now drag around a bunch of chopped cabbage, cucumbers, radishes, peppers, etc drizzled with balsamic vinegar and sea salt. Marvelous stuff to calm down the cravings. Beats salads in my books, lol.

Anyway, I think everyone finds their own way to connect with their body's actual needs, and I hope you will find yours!

Don't let day one be your last day...pick yourself up and go on. I'm allowing myself a cheat day each week so I can eat off the plan and not feel guilty

Thank you for that Lorna!
