Libby, you've been sooo consistent! You've been doing some great work. Keep it up!

Debbie, welcome back to your groove!

Mike, hope the doctor can help you. You passed it to me, though.

Most of this week I didn't think I'd have any loss. I averaged 300 calories over my goal most of the week. And it was "that" week where my body goes haywire. (tmi? sorry.) I had a modest .8lb loss, and considering my week I'll take that as a win. My mood is starting to even out, and I see a spark of motivation coming on the horizon.

Tomorrow my parents are coming into town for about 5 days, and they'll be eating with us probably every night. I'll just be making my regular type dinners that I usually do, but I will probably add some desserts into the menu that I don't normally do. Of course, when I make sweet treats I can't say no. Hopefully with a couple extra people there will only be enough for everyone to have 1 serving, and I won't be able to keep grazing on it.

I really want to have a good weekend for Monday's challenge weigh in.

My Goals For The Week...

The way I usually get back on track is by cleaning up my diet the first week, and then worrying about calories the second week. So, that's what I'm going to do.

1. Eat clean; eliminate the 5 "bad foods". Y, Y, Y, Y, No, had a little feta on my salad
2. Limit diet Coke to one glass per day. Y, none =), none, none, none
3. Drink 1 glass of tart cherry juice per day. (Recommended by my MD for joint inflammation.) Y, Y, Y, Y, N (ran out)
4. Drink one cup of antioxidant tea per day. Y, Y, Y, Y, Y
5. Take all vitamins and supplements. Y, Y, Y, Y, Y
6. 45 minutes of core building per day. Y, Y, Y, N, Y
7. Walk 3 times this week; minimum of 30 minutes each day. (It's 5 below zero, here not too far from Green Bay, with a windchill of -15. I'll have to walk indoors somewhere.) N (It was so cold yesterday that my car wouldn't start.) Another N, something in my SUV has frozen and it's going to the garage to be checked over today. GRRRRRR!!!, N (same thing), Y, Y

Just got back from my out of town doctors appt. I see a breast cancer specialist twice a year, not because I have had breast cancer, but because I'm at a very high risk. All went very well. She was happy with my weight, (...although I'm not) my diet and my exercise routine.

I did learn something new today, however. She said that recent studies have shown that being at the low end of your BMI range puts you at just as high of a breast cancer risk as being at the top end of your BMI range. For 5'5", Her recommendation is between 128-130 lbs. That's a little above my target weight where I feel my best. We do a lot of hiking and backpacking, and I find it's much easier being a little leaner. We'll see.

She also recommends that her patients have no more than 2 drinks in 24 hours. **sigh** I am a wine collector and travel to many wineries in the summer and fall. I enjoy having guests over to try what I find. Two glasses of wine isn't much of a tasting. lol

The roads were just awful this morning during our 100 mile drive each way. A light drizzle at 21 degrees freezes instantly on your windshield, so it was quite a task to keep it clear. I'm beat. Between the stress of the drive and the stress of having a cancer specialist examine you from head to toe, I'm totally wiped out. Going to read for a little while in front of the fireplace, then it's off to bed.

Have a great night, all!

I have been on the go all day. I had to go bra shopping this morning because Junior got ahold of all of my "good" ones a while back and tore holes in them. I've always sworn by Lane Bryant bras. They last forever! The ones I was replacing were probably a good 5 years old. I know I had them before I met BF. Well, today was my lucky day. They were having a Buy 2 Get 2 Free sale!!! I got 4 pretty, great quality bras for $95. Still a little pricey, but did I mention that they last forever? If you divide it out, that comes in at less than $24 a bra. Not too shabby!! You can't get a mediocre bra for under $25. I also did some running around today. I had to go to the trash dump, take my mom home, go pick up my niece, get niece's food, go back to my parents' house and then made it home. When I got here BF decided he wanted Chick Fil A for supper. I had Wendy's for lunch. So yeah, two fast food meals today. I made good choices though. I went through the nutrition for both meals and made the best choices I could. Lunch was under 500 calories and supper was under 800. More than I would normally eat for either meal, but I did what I had to do. Now I have to pack for BF and me to go see his sister this weekend. I also have to pack the boys' stuff for the kennel. SIL said we could bring the dogs but they would have to sleep outside. Boss would be fine with that, but Junior has never slept outside since we've had him. I'm not sure how he would do. I also don't know how he would take the 3 hour drive to get there. It's just better to put them at the kennel. It's a really nice one though. They get to go out to potty and play 7-8 times a day, they feed them on our schedule, we can take their blankets and toys. The kennel will provide food, but I pack their normal food and treats. Junior has a sensitive belly and it's just not worth him getting diarrhea because he's eaten something different. Doggie diarrhea is NOT fun. I have their blankets and stuff in the wash now, so I'll pack that after I get their food together. It's going to be a long evening so I better get to it. Not sure if I will get to check in this weekend, but will try to make good food choices. TTYL!!

Libby - That is so awesome Libby!!! Congrats on all the progress and success!!

Quinn - Sounds like a very trying day! Glad you made it home safe and sound. I don't think I like your doctor....I too am a red wine lover! It does scare me to think that it is linked to breast cancer. My aunt has had breast cancer and her doctor strongly recommended that she limit wine to a few times a year!

Lisa - Glad to hear your motivation is sparking again. 'That week' can play such a number on our mood. It never ceases to amaze me!!! Enjoy the visit with your parents!

Tori - That does sound like a great deal on the bras. $24 is a steal for a good quality bra! Enjoy your weekend at your SIL!

Mike - So what did your doc say? Did you get some good stuff Hope you're feeling better soon!

Have a great evening all! I'll be sure to check back in for accountability this weekend.

Good morning all! It's finally the weekend and what do I do....wake up at 5:30 am!!! Grrrr! I laid in bed until 6:30 hoping to fall back to sleep but no luck. So I got up, had a cup of coffee and got in my cardio and core workout. Guess in the end, it was good that I was up early. Now I have the whole day ahead of me and I won't have to try to squeeze in my workout

max. 1500 calories per day: Mon - 1198 cals., Tues - 1443 cals., Wed - 1467 cals, Thurs - 1467 cals, Fri - 1441 cals

take vitamins daily: Mon - yes, Tues - yes, Wed - Yes, Thurs - Yes, Fri - Yes

I'll be back later for accountability on the rest of my goals. I've completed 2 out of the 5 I set! The others will take until tomorrow night to complete, but I'm feeling confident that this week will be a complete success

Just a quick check in to remind myself that I'm not going back to my bad habits on weekends. =)

Spent the first half of the day going to three different grocery stores buying everything that I need for the next couple of weeks. I learned that for me, it's so much easier making out a 2 week menu and having everything in the house ready to go. Then, I just go down the list and cook whatever I have time to make that night.

Big Packer game tonight and husband just walked in the door with a bag of chips and sour cream and onion dip. What a rat! I'll be eating my grapes, although a pizza and a Corona sound way better. lol =)

Mike,

How did it go with your doctors appt.? Hope she was able to give you something to help.

We're going down to -7 degrees tonight, so there's no hope of walking for me for a few days. Currently, it's 3 degrees with 25 mph winds for a windchill of -15. Gotta love January, the coldest month of the year. Looks like I'll be a mall walker tomorrow... Yuck!

Have a great night all! Off to watch my beloved Packers lose. lol
