Wish I could tell you, Libby. I'm so NOT a cook. When I DO make an attempt, I just wing it, based on fleeting bits of info from TV or web browsing. Throw together stuff that sounds like it might work and hope for the best. Results? Usually somewhat edible. Haha.

I WANT your scale, Mike. Keep up the good works!

Sounds quite delicious, Lisa!

As for me, the soup was FAN.TAS.TIC. In addition, I was very pleased to discover that it is very filling. I'm usually very critical of my "cooking" but I must say I nailed it with this one. And I'm proud to say that, after indulging, I did the right thing. Researched all the nutrition bits, properly logged it, divvied the pot up into 8-oz portions and promptly froze most of them.

By the way, an 8-oz serving came out to 225 calories, ~2g of fat and ~368mg sodium. The bulk of calories came from the beans and, not surprisingly, the bulk of the sodium came from the ham. Nice note: there's so much content in the soup that the fat content is diluted. Overall, I'm quite pleased.

01gt4.6 01-07-2016 09:05 AM

epi, nice to hear the soup was a success.

So Terry is no longer active? And I think jjrudd was Joanna. I'll have to shoot a message and see how she is.

The quinoa recipe was a hit. DH said he would rather have it than spagetti.
Winner. My total calories for the day were under 800 if I don't do any snacking tonight. I am going to look for some more recipes on line.

I've never cooked quinoa, what does it taste like? I'm glad DH liked it too. I'm at just over 1100 calories for the day, supper was super low cal and super good. Looks like we've both had successes tonight!

I think there has been a glitch with email notifications. Mine is turned on, but for months, I haven't received an email notification when I get a private message. Then yesterday, after months of not getting notifications, I got a notification! Strange? Today, was back to the same....no notification even though I got a PM. So even if she has her notifications turned on, she may not be getting a email.

Libby, so glad to hear the quinoa was a success for both of you! Such a great feeling when all are happy!

I blew it today big time. I don't know how my transgressions are going to show on the scale for tomorrow's weigh-in. I'm just hoping for the best. I was seriously craving sugar, and man did I ever indulge. donuts in the afternoon and french toast for dinner. yikes! Good thing is I got that craving out of my system. I should be good for a while now. lol

Tomorrow I'll be on the straight and narrow.

Yes, you go do that!

01gt4.6 01-08-2016 03:14 AM

Last night I ate pizza. It was good but I'm sure I've gained a little. I have this whole weekend to pull it together. I hope to see y'all over the weekend.
My goals for the week:

1) log food/water yes, yes, most (not all), yes
2) drink 100 oz of water a day yes (140oz), yes (right at a gallon), yes (118.3), yes
3) drink a bottle of water BEFORE I eat a meal yes, yes, yes, yes
4) lose 1 pound

libby135 01-08-2016 05:57 AM

Good Job Debbie. We had a good week and I am now under my lowest for 2015. Onward and downward we go. Yay. :D

rainbow24 01-08-2016 06:21 AM

Breakfast and lunch are always good, but the evening gets away from me. Not even watching TV. It's just dark out.

gypsyjoy 01-08-2016 06:59 AM

Still working on my goals for the week.

Goals for the week:
1. Drink 60 ounces of water daily
2. Workout at least 150 minutes a week
3. Log foods keeping macros in mind

Water intake has been good; have logged foods every day and kept within my targets and just need 30 more minutes of exercise so it's certainly doable.

01gt4.6 01-08-2016 07:07 AM

tech is looking into the notification thing. Anyone having this issue let me know. I've already told him about Debbie and Quinn.

I've logged everything for the day, have even logged my supper already. I'm sitting at 1122 calories. I don't think I've eaten this few calories in a day in a while, but I don't feel deprived at all. Isn't it amazing when we do what we KNOW works that we feel better. I was woken by the pup again around 3:30 this morning and I felt that twinge of hunger. I drank water instead and went back to sleep. Woke up and wasn't the least bit hungry. I ate breakfast late this morning, around 9:30. I normally eat at 7 or so. I guess things are working. The scale showed me down 3.8 so far for the week. Those are the way I like to see the numbers....going down!!

I'm in for the weekend, who else???

To all not receiving email notifications, first check your notification settings, secondly, check to see if our email is being sent to your spam folder. Check carefully, or do a search of your spam folder using keyword "Fitday" It seems a lot of emails from the site are being flagged as spam and could be preventing you from receiving these notifications.

My total calories for today were 1368 but it was planned. Mike, no dancing bananas please. They will only make me hungry for a banana split. HA HA
Let's all have another good week.

We made it to eleven pages in six days. Is that a record Mike? Now it's the week end and things are slow again. The weather forecast is calling for rain so all our snow will be melting away. I will be taking down the Christmas Tree and putting all the decorations away for another year. That always makes me sad, but on a happy note, the scale said 169.7 this morning. Yay. I have been waiting for this for a month, since before Christmas. I made it into the 160's.
That makes my day. Onward and downward we go. Thanks friends.

lildebbieg 01-09-2016 03:22 AM

Hi all! :) Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Today, I'll be running errands and getting weekend stuff done. Always so much to do after working all week....***sigh***

Libby - It's raining here as well, but we got a huge amount of snow over the past 2 weeks so I don't know if the rain will wash it all away...fingers crossed that it does! LOL! Congrats on hitting a new decade!!! You're doing so well....keep up the great work!!

....now we're at 12 pages Libby! ;)

libby135 01-09-2016 03:49 AM

It's foggy out there and that makes it bad for driving. We are both in a new decade this week. Soon I should fit into the size 14's hanging in my closet.
Remember we have a weigh in on Monday so be good. ;)

I'm pushing for a loss each Friday and Monday, so weekends will need to be on track each and every weekend. I will get back to my goal in 2016 and this time around, I will begin the process of maintaining.

I am attending a party tonight. Under normal conditions that would be a disaster, but for me it is a breeze. My allergies have to be good for something. I can't eat anything and drinking is equally dangerous.
At least they don't drink boxed wine so it doesn't make me feel sick just being in the room.

ToriD1012 01-09-2016 06:20 AM

i think the all time record was around 50 pages. It was back in 2012. It was around the time I was heading his way for Mardi Gras and we were talking about food and places to see.

The weekend has started off on a sour note. The cold I've been babying all week is getting worse. Oh the joys of being on immunosuppressants. Even the smallest cold takes ages to get over. I'm a plugging away though. I have vegetable soup in the crock pot for supper and I'll make cornbread to go with it. Anyway. It's a Netflix kind of day. Bring on Derek Morgan and some Criminal Minds. I'll be feeling better in no time. ;)

libby135 01-09-2016 07:09 AM

We are going to my Mother in law's to play scrabble tonight. She keeps me on my toes regarding weight loss. Last Summer she was the one that told me that I was eating too much and that got me serious about losing weight. Since September 1st I have lost 32 pounds and I would like to lose another 53 pounds. Onward and downward we go.
Tori, that wasn't 50 pages in one week was it? I hope that your cold will be better soon.
Rainbow, enjoy the company and eat some thing before you go to the party. Can you take some thing that you can eat and drink. That way you are safe.
Congrats to all who lost weight and are in a new decade this week. If you didn't lose than Monday is another chance. Don't give up.

AZLisaLou 01-09-2016 07:38 AM

I've got boneless pork chops in the crock pot for dinner tonight along with some mushroom gravy from a mix (super low cal surprisingly). We'll have brussels sprouts in a light butter sauce and some mashed potatoes. I'm figuring my whole dinner (and a filling sumptuous dinner it will be!) at about 530 calories.

I'm trying to be good today. I did have a leftover piece of pizza for breakfast, but my calories for the whole day are looking really good. Now I just have to stay on track.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I like Libby's saying, "onward and downward!"

lildebbieg 01-09-2016 08:48 AM

Hi all! I took my daughter shopping today for 2 birthday presents for parties she will be attending next weekend. Nothing like having to buy more toys so soon after Christmas  We also picked out a paint colour for her new loft bed that my husband is building for her. We also picked up some fabric (to make bean bag chairs for her 'girl fort' under the loft bed) and a purple faux fur rug. Should be a crazy looking bedroom by the time we're done, but she's so very happy with all her choices! Tonight, we're making homemade pizzas like we do most weekends, then playing board games or watching a move together. I really love the ages the kids are at....people always tell me to enjoy these years because all too soon they are grown and too busy to spend time with dear ol' mom and dad....so I will soak it all up while I can!

Libby - Your positivity is contagious!! I think you need an avatar and I found one that would be perfect for you!

http://dietandexercisemotivation.com...d-Downward.jpg

Lisa - Hi there Chiquita ;) You always make your meals sound so yummy....even though I don't think I've ever tried pork chops...but you had me at mushroom gravy, brussels with butter sauce and mashed potatoes. YUM!

Tori - What are you on immunosuppressants for? Hope you feel better soon...enjoy your Netflix day!

Annette - Have fun at the party! Even if you can't eat the food, you can enjoy the company!

that was one week. The threads were a lot busier back then, in general, but that was a crazy one. I'm going to take some NyQuil tonight to see if I can knock this out.

i was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Disease two years ago. I'm currently taking methotrexate weekly, Humira every other week, and prednisone as needed for flare ups. If you don't know the side effects of methotrexate, just look them up. It's crazy. Luckily I haven't had any of the serious side effects. If you do look it up, I take minimal dosages than a cancer patient would take. I take 25 MG a week. Which is max dose for RD but not even in the same ballpark as a cancer patient.

Wow Tori!! That must be tough to deal with!! I'm very familiar with Methotrexate....I have Crohn's Disease but lucky for me, I haven't ever had to take Methotrexate or Prednisone. My sister-in-law, who also has Crohn's, has had to be on both. She is almost always on Prednisone to keep things at bay. She had to stop the Methotrexate....too many side effects and it was no longer helping her.
