Start (week 1): 154
Goal (Jan 4, 2016): 143
Week 2 Exercise Goals: 5 interval workouts (alternating between a cardio move and a strength move) and get out for a walk at least twice. It is a very rainy forecast this week, so achieving this goal will be dependant on mother nature

Oct 12: nada
Oct 13: 30 min. Shoulders/Triceps interval workout + 25 min. Kickboxing workout
Oct 14: nada
Oct 15: nothing
Oct 16: zilch
Oct 17:
Oct 18:

DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) kicked in from my workout yesterday and my legs, butt and inner thighs were soooo damn sore that it hurt to walk....so no workouts for a few days. Sad thing is my workout was upper body focused so I had no idea my lower half would be so sore! I stretched out my shoulders and triceps after the workout, but never stretched my butt and inner thighs which is why I ended up with DOMS. Note to self, no matter what type of workouts, do a full body stretch after! ;) I do feel a bit better today so I'll get out for a walk today and tomorrow...at least then I'll have hit one goal for this week!

Well, I'm up from Friday's weigh in, but down from last Monday's weigh by a fair amount. A little under what I need to do to make my goal. Actually now that I look at it, I had a better week on the 1st one, so I have averaged 2/wk, which is right on target. I've started exercising again, as little as it may be since I'm just starting out. But I've got a goal to exercise 4 times this week and by the end of the week to be able to get half way through the first workout. I'm at 25% now.

Libby,
Keep on going. you'll have a loss next week, I'm sure of it.

While today's weigh in looks like a gain, I'm actually down 2 lbs. from Friday's weigh in which I'm very happy with! I actually got through a weekend and stayed on track! Not only that, I even went to a restaurant yesterday so I had an unusual amount of sodium so I kind of expected a slight gain. I'm confident that next week I will see a loss from today's weight :D

AZLisaLou 10-26-2015 01:05 AM

Debbie, great job staying on track over the weekend, including a restaurant. Keep up this level of positivity and dedication and you will definitely see drops each Friday/Monday!

I'm avoiding the scale this morning. I always weigh less in the afternoon, and I need every ounce off I can get.

Speaking of weighing less in the afternoon...why is that? Shouldn't I weigh less when I get out of bed after not eating anything? The only thing I can think of is that I "puff up" or retain water while I sleep? Is that possible? Any ideas anyone? Just curious as to why this is for me.

I was glad to see a new number on the scale this morning. I was up to the bathroom several times last night and hoped that I would have a good weigh in in the morning.

linda987 10-26-2015 03:38 AM

I did it!

So glad to see I'm down 2 Was a little nervous because of the weekend. I stayed on top of it, but I did allow myself a bit of goodies. Saturday we went to Red lobster ( all you can eat shrimp) and did just that. and Sunday I made a lemon cake and had a nice size piece of that. it was good and I really enjoyed it. That's all the cheating I did all week. This week will be harder because its my 2nd week, I'll have to do better. my goals for the week are
Food journal- exercising 5 days at least 30 minutes - 64 oz. water -3 vegetables & 2 fruits - 2 sweets this week ( one for Halloween) - keep my calories under 1500.I will try not to think about food.( the more I think about it the more its on my mind)
I will have my husband hide the left over candy. or give it away.

Wishing you all a great & successful day. Relax, love yourself !

Lisa - Thank you for your encouragement and thank you for checking in on me this weekend! Your support has been so helpful in keeping me focused on my goals! As for you weighing less in the afternoon rather than the morning...hmmm that is interesting. I think you have mentioned before that you don't eat much during the day, but enjoy having a larger dinner. Am I right? If so, that could explain why the scale is down in the afternoon? Just a guess! :)

Libby - You've been consistently losing week after week for month's now!! I keep finding the weight you're losing! :p Keep this up and you will most certainly hit your goals by your goal dates!!

Linda - Good job this week!

Reaching my goal will be very tough...2 lbs/week until Jan. 4th. Over the holidays? hmmm. We'll see. I'm going to do my best!!!

libby135 10-26-2015 11:14 AM

I feel as if I am taking baby steps with my half pound loses from week to week but any thing is better than a plateau. Years ago I went from my highest weight then of 181 to 165 and was stuck for 12 weeks. After that I gave up again but not this time. Keep the optimism going every one.

linda987 10-27-2015 03:50 AM

Baby steps are good, I just don't want to go backwards. I have to remind myself that I'm aiming for a .5 lose a week. any extra is a bonus.
Today looks to be great weather, last day for awhile with out rain. I will get my rain coat & pants out to be ready for walking in the rain.
Today I've done my 20 minutes of stretches ( foot, back and knee therapy )
I will do 20 minute walk. ( that's all the Dr. wants me to do this month, Hoping I can walk 30 next month) I will not eat any sweets and watch my food intake. Wishing you all a wonderful fun filled day!

lildebbieg 10-30-2015 12:41 AM

I'm down from last Friday's weigh in and down from Monday's weigh in as well!!! Now to hold on tight and make it through the Halloween weekend and manage to see another drop on the scale on Monday!!

Been crazy busy. But I feel good that although DH and I were away for almost a week and ate out just about every night, I did not gain.

I hope everyone is well. I love that exercise quote.

libby135 11-01-2015 01:44 AM

Yeah Debbie. You can do it. I find that having two times a week to weigh in
helps me to be more careful during the week and on week ends too. I did treat myself to one piece of candy and the sweetness was too much. My tastes have changed and it didn't taste as good as I thought it would. Stay strong.
Tomorrow is Monday.

lildebbieg 11-01-2015 01:56 AM

Thanks Libby!! I'm quite up this morning though...so not looking likely that I'll see a loss tomorrow...I'll be lucky to see my Friday weight. Two nights in a row of parties (my parents 50th and a Halloween party) and not eating exactly on track....however, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and that's important to me. If I feel too deprived and that I can't go out and enjoy myself, that will derail me. So, I may be up tomorrow, but I'll still be working towards my goals and that's what counts right now :)

Wow! You managed to only have 1 piece of candy!! What great self control!! That's the reason that you've been seeing such consistent results! Great job Libby!

rosabella2012 11-01-2015 06:40 AM

Like others, I love the quote about exercise! For far too long, I saw exercise as punishment; now I see it differently and am learning to see my body as wonderful and amazing in all that it can do.

Hubbie cooked yesterday--beans with ham and sausage and rice. I didn't eat any of the rice but I ate some of the beans with ham and sausage and it was SOOO good! His cooking meant my kitchen was a mess but it was worth it. He's a great cook and loves to cook quite often--if I could get him to clean up after he cooks!

Libby: Congrats on stopping with just one piece of candy!

Vicki

I feel like I should be eating better and losing quicker. Also want to get back to small movements. Bought a new house so crazy busy. Maybe running around getting stuff ready is exercise?

One piece of candy, Libby, woo hoo!

I love the quotes, Debbie. Congrats on parents' 50th!!!

It's great your husband cools. Good control avoiding the rice! I make mess when I cook too...

Disappointed!!

I am so disappointed. I tried so hard, food journal, water, exercise. healthy eating. Halloween ate a caramel apple and a candy bar. I didn't gain but I only lost 1/2 pound. I know that is my goal but I still am really bummed out. Now the hard part is getting back on track and thinking I wont lose anyway. I am going to limit my portions even more. I have to get the weigh off! -------- ----------------Congratulations to all the weight lost, I am happy for you, Keep charging on!! ( I'll be right behind you trying to keep up!)
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

lildebbieg 11-02-2015 05:52 AM

Holy water weight!! I'm up 4 lbs. from my Friday weigh in, so obviously it's water weight. I kind of expected this to happen. I'm over it  I've been looking for extra motivation so I joined DietBet. I have until Nov 23 to hit 152.4 lbs. or I lose the money I invested. If I find the vibe at DietBet motivating, then I may just keep joining challenge after challenge until I hit my goal weight. I won't be weighing in again until Nov 23, but I'll still be here cheering you all on while working towards my own personal goal :)

Linda, 1/2 lb is excellent! Worlds better than a gain, like me. It might not be what you're hoping for. Just make sure you are eating enough and not putting your body into starvation mode. Sometimes, as weird as it may be, people find they lose more weight when they increase their calories a bit. If I don't eat enough, I don't lose. Just a thought I had when you said you are going to restrict your portions more.

Debbie, what is DietBet? How do they verify you lost the weight? Is it an in-person group, or is it online? 4 lbs gain is definitely water weight. So glad you're not letting it get you down.

Libby, woot! woot! have fun shopping!!!

I'm down on myself. I'm up 1 lb from Monday of last week. I'm really kind of devastated. To meet my goal I've needed to lose 2 lbs/week every week, and I missed that goal this week by a lot. I'm really hoping that I can get rid of that plus more for next week. I'm not giving up though!!!! I've got to do it this time.

It's a website dietbet.com You join a game...the cost is usually around $25 - $30. You take a full length photo of yourself, and a picture of a scale with a 'code' word that they send to you. You submit this and their team verifies it. At the end of the game, you send a new full length photo of yourself, and a gain a picture of a scale with a 'code' word. The games last either 1 month (where you are challenged to lose 4% of your body weight) or 6 months (where you are challenged to lose 10% of your body weight). At the end of the game, if you hit your goal, you're a winner. All the winners in the game split the pot. So worse case scenario is everyone hits their weight and you get back what you invested. You can then cash out or roll the money back into another bet. Just trying to find a way to up my motivation level! ;)

Sorry to hear you're feeling down about your weigh in this week. I too will have to lose close to 2 lbs. each week to hit my goal here. It's unlikely, but just like you, I'm not giving up! Who knows, maybe we'll surprise ourselves!!!?!?

libby135 11-04-2015 03:35 AM

I must be in between sizes. What I am wearing is too big but what is in my closet is too small. Several times I have nearly lost my pants but I was at home, lucky for me.
I am watching Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet being sworn in.
It's a great day for Canada.
