Hi,

I've read the motivational thread where Libby suggested Daily weighin
I have some pretty ambitious goals in mind to hit or strive for by September 12, so I would like to join in

I started a separate thread, because the motivational one will be retired tomorrow

Count me in! ;) Well, here it is...the good, the bad, the ugly ;) I have a short term goal to keep me on track! 3 lbs. in 1 week will not be the norm, but I know I'm carrying some water weight after Friday's Chinese food indulgence. Let's do this! :D

Friday - 136.6 lbs. (the bad)
Saturday - 138.6 lbs. (the ugly)
Sunday - 135.4 lbs. (the good)

Okay, I'm game! I usually weigh in M and F, but every day is doable too ;)

I'm going to use the dates like Bea (hi Bea!!) and set it up two weeks in advance. My goal is basically to lose a pound per week - I expect more at the beginning and less at the end, but that's an average. And I have a "lofty" goal for this week, because I've almost been there already before bouncing back up!

I am just realizing, this is the lightest I have been since I was in my 30s!

When I went on this journey about 4-5 years ago, I went from 367 to ( I briefly saw 288.9 one day). I kept it off about 3 years and it slowly crept back to where I started in Jan at 352.

Since Jan I have changed my BMI from 66.7 - 54.3 (Those numbers impress me)

I've come a long way baby!!

I'm on vacation this next 2 weeks, then back to work 4 days, then off to New Orleans for 4 days

Hi all. I freaked when I stepped on the scale this morning. It must have been the chicken in salsa that I made for supper last night. I made a promise to post my weight every day so here it is. VERY UGLY

I think one of the good things with daily weighins, is the immediate feedback to yesterday's choices.

Salt play such havoc with our bodies.

Was your salsa homemade? If not, it is really easy to do, and then simple to eliminate the salt entirely. Chicken and tomato is a yummy combination, it would be a shame to give it up

Anette - Glad you're joining us!!

Bea - Couldn't agree more with daily weigh ins being immediate feedback to yesterday's choices! I didn't get in enough water today and ate more carbs than intended....may show up on the scale tomorrow.

I was happily surprised to see a down number this morning, especially since I didn't get in all my water yesterday. I did make good breakfast and lunch choices; dinner was meh - DH was cooking and made shrimp and pasta. At least shrimp are low-cal, but I had to guesstimate the calories, as he never writes down what he's cooking or amounts. The sauce was also light, which I thanked him for.

It's the first time I've seen below 181.8 in almost two weeks, I think. Hopefully it's not a "bounce' but a step in the right direction.

That's so nice that you had a pleasant surprise this morning Terri! I too didn't get in enough water yesterday and ate more carbs than intended, but still was ever so slightly down this morning. :) I only have two more days to lose .8 lbs. Got to get in my water and a couple workouts and cross my fingers! ;)

I drank lots of water yesterday and flushed out the salt. It wasn't hard to do since the weather was hot. We are having a heat wave with a weather advisory. I could probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of hot days we have had this summer and it is nearly over. Th scale was good to me this morning. I should make it to 178 by Friday so I am on track.
I wish all of us a good weigh in.

Annette - Don't sweat it, you're going great! :) Weight fluctuates on a daily basis for all of us. If you're staying true to your commitment, overtime your weight will come down. Weighing and posting daily is just a good way to keep on track, but it's not for everyone. Some people are better to weigh on a weekly basis so they don't see the daily fluctuation. It's up to each person what works best for them and what keeps them motivated.

Bea - Keep that momentum going!

Annette: Don't let one day get you down. I've bounced as much as 5 lbs. before from sheer water weight or soreness in my muscles from working out.

Debbie: Rooting you on! You can get there!

Bea: Moving in the right direction!

I had a great day yesterday (almost too great, my cals were LOWER than I normally like to be - I'm going to be starving today). I hit 180.4 previously this month before bouncing back up, so I'm hoping to bust through it. If I start beating my goals for the next couple of days, I'll adjust my expectations for myself!

No idea why the fluctuation, perhaps tuna for supper?

It was tuna, grated carrot, green pepper, grape tomatoes, onion... rolled up in red chard

Oh well, it is what it is, and I did the right things yesterday :D

I dropped from 292 to 288/87 in a couple of days so maybe just a realignment

Hello 'daily-weigh-er-inners' ;) I'm up a little today but still down from Friday, so all is good. Still aiming for 133.6 by Friday and I still have today and tomorrow to make ait happen ;)

Libby - Thanks for challenging me to posting daily weigh ins! I think this is exactly what I needed to light that fire again!

Bea - I would guess the fluctuation is because of that big drop in only a few days. That seems to happen to me too after a big drop....it's like your body has to accept this new weight before it's ready to release anything more.

Terri - Awesome job getting back to your monthly low. Here's to busting through sticky numbers!! :cool:

Annette: Fluctuation comes as part of it - but if the trend is down,that's all that's needed

Bea: I'm with Debbie and you - that often happens to me too after a big drop. Who knows what it is? We are biological systems, and biological systems are messy.

I'm a bit up from yesterday, but I have to admit relief when I stepped on the scale. Last time this month when I was exactly 180.4, next time I was on the scale I'd bounced way back up to 182.6. A small .4 bounce-up is fine. I had an unexpectedly high-carb dinner last night as well as a glass and a half of wine (logged faithfully) so that could be the reason as much as anything - high carb dinners are never good, our body takes those yummy carbs and stores them if they're not used right away. Still looking for 180.0 by Sunday, and I think I can do it. There will be a workout today!

I'm up a bit more again today. Like Terri, I had some wine last night which always causes the scale to go up. So sad that I'm going back to work next week, but I also know that once I'm back at work my life will be scheduled again which makes staying on track easier in a way. Another big change that is about to happen is I'm going back on the pill. My cycle has become somewhat unbearable....I'll save you all from the details...but my doctor says going back on the pill will help to alleviate some of the stuff I've been dealing with. While I'm hopeful it may actually help, I'm also a little fearful that going back on the pill will cause weight gain. Time will tell! ;)

I stood on the scale 4 times to get this weight. :rolleyes:

The truth is, I stood on the scale without putting my feet completely on, so I was teetering on nearly tiptoes in the middle of the scale. It showed 319.4. So to confirm, I reset, then stood properly and got the lower weight.
Then I took my walk and stood on the scale again. I floundered a little and it flashed 318.4 before going to P-1. I lost the instructions a long time ago, so I can't trouble shoot.
So I took one last try and came up with 317.2. This time I was one the scale properly.
Normally, I can reweigh myself all day and still come up with the same weight as long as I am on the scale right.

I recovered from my small bounce-up today, which I'm happy about, and it marks a new low for the month. I'd love to hit my Sunday goal and am SO CLOSE - hopefully it keeps me good over the weekend. I have a challenge today because I am meeting fellow new workers for beer/wine/snacks at 4:00. My plan is to stick to 1-2 light beers and go easy on the snacks (nibble nibble). I will log as faithfully as I can. I've got motivation this week being so close to a new decade, so I hope that's stronger than my growling stomach!

I did okay yesterday (relatively, anyway), but between sodium and having a drink or two, I'm up a pound. I am not freaking out about it. If I have a good weekend, I should still hit my goal if I can flush out the sodium and booze. Gonna try to have a good day today!

Moving in the right direction, but didn't hit my goal this week. It was thunderstorming all day yesterday, so I did not get to the gym. Looks like more rain threatening today. I am letting my body wake up, will eat a light breakfast and then go over there before the heavens open.

Not adjusting my goal for next week. I'm expecting that I'm still holding some water and am in actuality closer to 180 than what the scale says. But hey, even according to the scale, I've lost just about 4 lbs. this month. That still puts me on track for my "20 lbs by Christmas" goal.

Terri - Maintaining over the weekend is awesome!! Wish I could say the same :rolleyes:

Well here are the numbers. Since I did eat in restaurants and indulged in wine for nearly 3 days, I guess I should be happy the scale only went up 1 lb. I sincerely did not try to stay on plan and over indulged. Well, we're back home and getting things ready for back to school/work tomorrow which means my life will once again be on a schedule. I would say I hope that helps me get back on track, but there's no hoping. I'm feeling desperate to be back on track and comfortable in my skin and my clothes again. So there is not try, there is only do. :p
