Hi Mike,

I remember you from last time I was here. I couldn't keep up the pace of exercise and diet with my granddaughter around. She has food allergies but is too young to understand that grandma's food is different. I won't be babysitting her again for some time, I hope. I am trying to talk her mom into becoming a SAHM until the two youngest are in school. Then if she wants me to babysit on non-school days while she works, great. Otherwise, my health took a hit that needs strict attention and all my resources to manage.

I'm still here... not nearly as active as back them. I think we both took a hit in the health dept. I've gained back so much weight, it's not even funny. Welcome back.

I'm giving myself a pass today as I ate too many carbs and haven't drank enough water. Things went well with Mom, very quick and she just has to keep the wound clean.

I'm doing fine today. Food and water on track--still need to exercise and I will pledge at least 5 minutes and likely do a little more.

Annette, hi! Welcome to our group. We love hearing what each other is up to. Nice goals! Best wishes on your upcoming doctor visits. Let us know how it goes. How old are your grandchildren? I've been taking care of kids grandkids for 20 years and was looking forward to eventual freedom within the next few years, but then my great-granddaughter came along and now I'm back into it and miss her when she's not here. I am fortunate to be in excellent health (except for my obesity) at my age.

Jenn, you deserve the pass. You'll be fine despite it. Glad it went OK for your Mom's foot surgery. Wishing her comfort and speedy healing. How are you feeling? How's your glucose?

Nyda, glad you had a bit of rain. So you haven't been doing much diet ralated projects, but you have to be burning a lot of calories ffrom all the work you do. You surely are active and you have every reason to be proud of that. The bike ride a couple days a week may turn out to be a refreshing change of pace for you--exercise PLUS a sense of freedom with the wind blowing through your hair.

Terri, thanks for the welcome back. I, too, found it encouraging that some old pals were returning at the same time as I. Your meals yesterday sound very sensible and I'm glad you enjoyed a bit of butter. Dieters going too low fat can often cause burnout. I've read that going to bed hungry is not a good idea and that having a snack of protein and fat like an hour and a half or so before bedtime is actually helpful to our metabolic processes that go on during our sleep hours. (Can you tell I'm not a scientist? LOL) Aw, I will say some prayers for your grandparents. What a blessing your love must be to them.

Mike great job on the gym and walking. Things are going great with me--pretty much same stuff different day. How much land do you have? The pics look great!

Becca, we accept your pass for the girls weekend and birthday celebration. Glad you had a good time. Your birthday? Congrats on doing well Monday and today.

Hope, sorry I missed your wedding anniversary on July 25th. What did you do to celebrate? My and DH's 43rd anniversary was July 24. We went on a day trip to a big band concert.

Kumochi Mary. I know your birthday is in August but still don't know the day. When is it?

OK, I did 10 minutes of very vigorous aerobic walking. Better than just 5 minutes.

Hi all. I wrote a post earlier but it's gone. I just can't get it together but tomorrow is another day.

holy crow! everyone is back with a flurry of messages. Last week it was mostly Debbie, Nyda and me and we wondered where everyone was hiding. Glad to see all of you back! I can only stay on a minute, need to get some sleep. The kids go back to school tomorrow, and i've also got an early morning appt with an eye specialist. I'm pretty nervous about what they're going to find wrong with it.

I tried to get on earlier, but couldn't get in to the forums. So I will have to say hi to you all tomorrow.

I didn't log all last week, and I felt it. My goal is to get back to logging every day like I normally do. Started today, and I feel much more in control.

Ok, I'm off to bed. Good night everyone! Glad to see you all back!

Thank you, Mern. My oldest granddaughter is staying with me right now. I"m not sure if she is a help, but at least she doesn't make things harder for me. She's 18. The one I was babysitting is 2 years old and a handful. My daughter is on maternity leave. The baby is 2 months old.
I thought I was in decent enough health until I landed in the hospital on June 30. Now I have meds and a new diet.
