...ummmm....I just realized I'm highlighting the negative....did I mention I also managed to squeeze in a 40 minute high intensity interval workout amidst an 8 hour workday, doctors appointment, daughter's photo day at dance, kids bath night and shopping for a new washer/dryer set (my washer broke down last weekend). Even though my days are crazy and I have barely a minute to take a breath...I still mostly manage to find time to workout. Phew...K I'm off to bed...;)

That's awesome Debbie! Good for you for being so committed. The fiddleheads are picked in low areas by river banks and brooks. I am in New Brunswick, I don't know where all they grow. They are steamed and then seasoned with vinegar or butter. There are fancier sauces but I don't bother. They can be "blanched" and then frozen in serving sized bags. That makes a quick veggie and they are very nutritious. |
I haven't really done a daily report but have met my goals everyday.

Either my scale died or the battery is dead. Obviously hoping it's just the battery. It could have picked a day better than weigh-in day to go on the fritz. My daughter is not home with my car, so I can't get to the store for either a battery or a new scale, and I can't eat until after I weigh in.
|
Turned out to be a dead scale. Went and bought a new one. I don't like what it says. Exactly the same freaking thing as last week. I've been exercising daily, watching my calories closely, and nothing. And barely anything for about a month.
Is it the calorie cycling that's not working for me? Is it just a plateau? How do I figure this out? I need to figure something out quick because this just isn't working for me! I even skipped lunch with my mother this afternoon while we were out thinking that would help. I should have had lunch! |
Well not a good day goal wise. Ended up going for an impromptu lunch with my daughter and therefore neither ate my homemade lunch and missed my lunchtime walk. Fresh start tomorrow.
|
Up a pound. I know I could've done better on the exercise and I definetely haven't gotten the water in the past couple of days.
I did accomplish a lot today. Cleaned the kitchen and did 2 loads of laundry. The last load of folded just needs to be put away. Jenn |
Todays tasks will be laundry and alterations. I have three pair of jogging pants that I need to let out at the waist and hem them for my Dad. He is eating better and has gained 3 kg. since moving to the nursing home a year ago. His waist has gone from a 34 to 36. The new pants that I bought are size large but the elastic waist is only 29 inches around so I have to open the waist band, cut the elastic and take out some of the gathering in the front. What a job. I wish I could find some nice looking pants with a fake fly and elastic waist for my Dad. I can't find any thing like this in Canada.
My weight is stuck at 172.4 and I have hit a plateau. I am exercising again and eating right but the scale won't budge this week. It's awfully quiet around here this week end. I hope you all are doing well. |
Morning everyone, well I am back on track so far today did a walk and already have lots of water in :)
I see some people getting very discouraged about doing everything right and still the scale not moving. I saw when I was losing that this is really normal. After the first few months weight loss really slows. You almost have to look at it by month and not by week. If a month goes by with no changes (and you've followed your plan) that's probably a plateau but a week, meh, it happens all the time. My 2 cents. |
I have changed my name and goal weight because in my heart I knew that I could not get down to 116 pounds so I felt like I was defeated before I started.
I am happy with my new goal and am ready to move forward. :) |
Thanks Robin for that reminder! My dietician told me once not to focus so much on the scale to think of the health benefits to improved diet and regular exercise.
Got a start on the back lawn. Grass was really long with all the rain. 20 min exercise. Jenn |

Libby...I love the idea of your name change! Way to keep your goal out there right in front of you. I didn't realize that's what the 116 was. I also like the fact that you were ok with changing your goal weight and being ok with it. We can have a goal weight to start with, but that doesn't always mean it's realistic. I didn't realize you could change your name on here. Hmmm. Maybe I'll take a tip from you. ;)
Even though my scale didn't move, I did lose 1/4" off my waist this week. That's something, right? I got a new coach on Beachbody who seems knowledgeable in the area of nutrition. Sometimes it takes someone else saying it to you to sink in. I know it's better to eat throughout the day, but I got away from that and have only been eating 1 meal a day with an Atkins shake and milk before bed. That may have something to do with my stalled weight loss, I don't know. Yesterday I was so discouraged and depressed that I crawled under a rock and didn't even do my exercise like I was supposed to. I saw a good quote posted today by my Beachbody coach (I can't find where I saw it so I might be paraphrasing): Never say "I can't". It's not that you can't. It's that you chose not to. That was just the motivation I needed to get my butt in gear today. Ready to exercise!!! (or did I see that on here and just didn't remember? Oh, I don't know. Wherever I saw it, it struck home.) |

I did it! I not only made it through the first half of Slim in 6 (Start It Up) without a break and without dying, but I also made it through the next 7.5 minute section on resistance bands. I got scared away after that, and by the quote I just put up there, I "chose not to" do the push ups. lol. I don't think I can even do one and she says, "We're only going to do 10!" (or, "I chose not to do even one." grrr damn the quote I put up!!! lol)

Libby, how did you change your name? Did you start a new account?

Good for you Jenai!
I pulled some weeds out of the driveway this morning (can only do it when car is out!) and cut the front lawn again. I also cut the hill which was really long. Half an hour! Woo hoo! Jenn |
Sounds like those who are on are doing pretty good with their motivation this weekend.
I got my butt in gear and walked yesterday and today. Today was a busy Sunday - including helping change a wheelbearing in my daughter's car. My husband's sciatic nerve is acting up so he was the brains and I was the muscle. Stayed with my goals 6/7 days....I am usually pretty compulsive about these things so I have to work at being happy with that. Here's to next week. |
