Struggling with trying not to be an emotional eater at the moment. September is a difficult month for me (for personal reasons which I won't get into). I struggle with having the energy to do much or the will to do it.
Got bloodwork yesterday and they couldn't find my veins despite the fact I know I drank about 7 glasses of water the day before. I have to debate whether to go every 3 months to gp or just go every 6 to specialist (who takes bloodwork for A1C as well). In what should take 5 mins for normal people takes me 20.

Jenn. never eat in a stressed state, it is very bad for your system! And you will ultimately feel worse. Do something relaxing instead. Go to youtube and find a "yoga nidra" to follow or a "lovingkindness meditation."

In Canada we are celebrating Labour Day so it's a long week end and most people have Monday off work. When I said Happy September 1st I was glad that August was over and we are into a new month.
Robin: (Never eat in a stressed state.) That is very good advice. Stress eating leads to bad choices which are regretable.
Jenn: I get my A1C tested every 3 months and I don't like being poked with needles. Try to make new memories this September and don't let the past bring you down.
Donna: You are truly inspirational. You give us hope for our journey and maintaining our loss.
Nyda: Congrats on another 5 pounds gone. You make it look so easy.
Hope: Those 3 pounds will be gone again soon.
Mern: We miss you.

Evening all. It is so smoky here that it is causiang my head to hurt a bit. I cannot go out side to work or play. It is just nasty. This morning it looked looked almost like fog.
In the last three weeks I have noticed a difference in my Left leg. It is always bigger then the right. Ever since I burned my left foot, it and my leg to the knee seem pron toswelling. Today I noticed that the swelling has gone down. It took three weeks and a lot a motivation.
One of my best firends, since the first day og High school, lost her husband of nine years just before memorial day. He weighed a lot to much is legs so swollen he could not move much.He got pnemonia and it went septic and kiled him. I have spent the rest of the summer looking at myself and what I was eating. I looked at my legs and my stomach, which rests on my thighs. I came to realization athat I did not want to go that way. So here I am Striffing to get the weight off so my life will be worth living and not let the weight kill me likle it did him.
Sorry to be so sad to day. maybe it is the smoke. We are surrounded by fires. Nyda

Newbie here. I used to be a real gym rat back in the day, then I got my heart broken and almost purposely set about getting fat. Oh, I didn't go "okay time to get fat". But I did say "well, no sense in staying fit, I'm single and probably will never find anyone like that again, so I guess I can eat all the ice cream I want".

Which amounts to the same thing. Over the last 7 years, I've tried and failed numerous times to lose even a little weight. Things have been hectic in my life over the last three years (moved a few thousand miles TWICE! Once from Alaska after 41 years).

Anyway, I landed in Colorado and my new apt. complex has a pool. That and eating better over the summer has me at 12 pounds lighter than ever in the last 7 years.
Now that they've closed to pool down for the winter (ha! it's still in the 90s outside cheap morons!), it's going to be harder to stay active, so can definitely use the motivational advice from others.
