Sweet potatoes

Q. The food search entry shows “sweet potatoes, cooked, candied,....” Does “candied” mean baked until it seems to bleed a sugary syrup? (That’s how my wife like to prepare them.)
Q. Any tips for finding the nutritional values of baked sweet potato skins? (No adhering flesh.)

My guess would be that they were cooked with added sugar.

Thanks, Kathy. Any tips on the baked skins?

I googled 'sweet potato skin nutrition.' According to myfitnesspal, 2 oz of just the skin is 72 calories, 15 mg sodium, and 300 mg potassium. 0 fat, 15 grams carb, 3 grams fiber, 1 gram protein.

I can't tell how accurate this information is.

That’s better info than I’ve been able to find, so thanks again and it’s what I’ll go with. I like the potassium number, seems that that’s one of - if not - the hardest targets to reach in my daily quest for Vits and Mins...

hello Kohsamui - hopefully you're able to find what you're looking for. have found the myfitnesspal database really easy to use for hard to find calorie / nutrition info. The community here rocks though

sweet potatoes don't ought to take a long term to prepare. reducing them into half of-inch slices and short Steaming them for just 7 mins now not most effective brings out their wonderful taste however allows to maximize their dietary value. And you may upload cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cloves for extra taste and vitamins.
