Default thoughts about recording homemade recipes

ok so here it goes say if you made chili for example beans, tomatoes, ground turkey etc and you are making a big pot of it how would you log it into your food log? especially if your just mixing all the ingredients together. That would take an insane amount of time to register each individual ingredient and you would have no idea how much you consumed. Pretty confusing or am I missing something or is there an app to help out?

Chili can be pretty generic. So you could choose one of the entries in the database that describes the chili you made.

I'd do the same for something like beef stew.
