Sweet potatoes
I'm probably dumb, but why, with 200 entries for "potatoes", many of which specify "potatoes, white...." isn't there an entry for sweet potatoes? Are they the same, nutritionally, as white potatoes, ...or yams? Also, know that there is a pretty substantial difference in the nutrition of a whole potato (skin on) and one that is peeled. Would like to see values for potato skins (white, sweet, red, yams). Any tips?

It is strange. Yams are almost twice as caloric as sweet potatoes, according to nutritiondata (nutritiondata.self.com). I've substituted that in the past and didn't realize the difference. They are so similar in taste. There are entries for sweet potato fries - that probably doesn't help you.
I'd just create a sweet potato custom food. I don't know why the database has that problem.
