For eggs, I make scrambled eggs with 2 whites and 1 whole egg, sometimes I add veggies or cheese. I'd like to know what else I can do with the yolks besides eating them. I give one to the dog on occasion but he's only 2 1/2 pounds so I can't do that too often.

While eggs are one of the foods naturally highest in cholesterol no studies have ever found a link in dietary intake of cholesterol and high blood cholesterol levels. To the contrary I read of a study that had participants eat eggs daily and found their blood cholesterol levels unchanged at the end of the study.

The whole 'eggs are bad movement' spawned back in the 60's after high blood cholesterol levels were linked to incresed risk of heart disease. The logic was that if cholesterol causes heart disease and eggs have cholesterol then eggs must be bad. At that time it wasn't even understood how LDL and HDL cholesterol were linked but the processed food industry was quick to jump on the chance to sell a processed food to replace a perfectly good natural alternative.

If you want to cut the calories from eggs you can use or buy egg whites (in the US you can buy egg whites in cartons like milk). But I will stick with my whole eggs.
