anyone can teach me the basics for adding foods...
I just registered today and I am happy to see how this site could help my diet and nutrition intake..
my diet is comprised of fish, chicken, veggies and fruits,. Just cant figure how to accurately put stuff on my food table.. do i really have to get a weighing scale to weigh everything or is there a basic trick or a friendly guide to it? thanks :) |
I weight everything to be more accurate, it's sooooo easy this way. I got a cheap scale from Walmart, put my plate on it, hit tare, put on my meat (write down the weight), hit take, put on the next item, write it, so on and so on.
This also help when making my protein shakes, I can have it taste the exact same way every time. I'd guess that most people don't weigh their food, and I though it was a little obsessive... until I started doing it. It takes the guess work out. You'd also be surprised in what you thought was a serving and then you measure it and realize that it was way off! |
The scale is undisputably the most accurate way to measure but you can make due with measuring cups. Most the foods on Fitday have a cup as a unit of measure. You can break this down to smaller portions using decimals like .5 or .25 of a cup.
