Default Monitoring Sugar Intake

When creating a custom food, and when adding a food, "sugar" is not a viable, monitored field. Why?

I've been told by my coach that sugar is the same as carbohydrates.

Default If sugars are the same as Carbohydrates

If sugars are the same as carbohydrates are we then supposed to add the amount of sugars to the amount of carbs or are sugars just omitted all together. I am confused.

Default hi

hi, just enter the carbs. Sugars are just another carb and don't need a separate entry

Smile sugars

its like with fats, theres the total fat, and then they break it down into saturated, trans, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. When breaking down carbs, there are the fibers (slow acting carbs) and sugars (fast acting carbs). The less sugar and more fiber carbs, the better. hope this helps

I too would like to see grams of sugar broken out as a separate category. Does FitDay monitor these forums to see what people are looking for?

actual refined sugar is a very big deal to many of us. diabetes is a huge concern these days.

a separate line for sugar (similar to fibre) would be much appreciated
