Custom food list sort order
 

My custom foods appear in no particular order, making it hard to find any specific one. Is there any way to sort the custom foods list alphabetically?

I agree, I have a hard time finding the exact food that I have ate. Very frustrating.:confused:

I agree. For example, to find chocolate chip cookies, I had to scroll through four pages. Why cannot such a simple, common item be easier to find?

For the foods you create and enter yourself, capital letters count (things in caps go to the top of the list). I usually go to "view recent foods" and scroll through that, since I've been at this a while now, everything I eat is usually already in my history.

Alphabetizing the custom foods would be very helpful. Even better would be to have the ability to add them to the appropriate food groupings.

I agree. It's VERY frustrating. Sometimes I have better luck looking under "food browse" instead of doing a search. There's still a lot missing, but in "Food Browse" the items are arranged by category.

Totally agree! Just came to the forums to see if there was a work around for this - guess not. FitDay staff - is there an enhancement planned to add this in the next version?

I'd like to be able to do this too! My custom food list is growing by the day and it would be nice to have them in order like they are on the web-based version of FitDay! PLEASE consider offering a patch to do this!

Are you sure? Mine are in alpha. order. To make it easier, I start my descriptions with a category (like "Salad Dressing") followed by the specific ("light Asian") and the serving size. When I pull up the list I just scroll down to salad dressings, and all the ones I put in are there.
It works quite well, and is very quick.

What a great idea! I noticed that some of my custom entries looked all mixed up and then I realized that if an entry starts with a lower-case letter, it will sort differently than something starting with the same upper-case letter. I had to go in and edit to fix that. Lots of work! So, if you can find an organizing principle for your foods when you start, it's so much easier.

Would like a way to alphabetize custom foods.

What I've noticed is that if you use a capital letter, it alphabetizes the custom foods. If you start the food with a lowercase letter, it puts it in the order it was added, not alphabetically. And the lowercase ones are always after the capitalized ones.

I see where the sort issue with custom foods has been open for two years. This indicates to me they are not going to fix this issue. I am sorry that I spent $30 on the program. Most of the foods I use are in the custom list. And trying to find an item in an unsorted list is terrible.

What $30 program are you having an issue with?

My food is showing up in alphabetical order and always has.
