I too would like to track total sugars not just as a carb count. I have tried to contact Fitday to request that it be added but can't figure out the email account that comes up. If someone else is better at that than I they could try contacting them.

Default Confused by terminology

Greetings, guys - Not sure if this is the place to ask the question, but not sure where else to post. I am new on this site as of today, and thrilled to be able to accurately track my progress with this great tool. Question is regarding the term "Alcohol" in the nutrition set-up when customizing your own foods. I know it doesn't refer to grain alcohol, a.k.a. spirits such as gin or vodka. Are they using "alcohol" synonymous with "sugars?" Every nutrition label I've seen on packaged goods uses the term "sugar," not "alcohol." Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

Welcome!

On FitDay, alcohol is actually grain alcohol. There is currently no facility (though we've been told it's coming) to track sugar or sugar alcohol.

Regards,
Michael

Mike is right, try adding a beer to your food log and then some of your calories will turn up as "alcohol".

Haha! I have mine in as custom food, never shows up as alcohol! Maybe I need to change that?

Thank you for the clarification -- looks like I need to re-input all my custom foods.

Hahaha!! That happened to me too - I realized I need to use Fitday's beer/light beer/etc. entries, since the alcohol numbers aren't listed on the bottle (in grams or whatever...) on my custom Coors Light entry . So the calories might be a wee bit off because I'm using Fitdays numbers (which look like averages of several light beers...) but it DOES show up as alcohol consumed.

Default Sugars

This fitday site seemed awesome at first. But what the heck is wrong with the system???
SUGAR
Sugar is what makes us sick, fat, diseased and fatigued.
Sugar causes all of our problems, along with poor quality processed, manufactured, modified, preserved, genetically engineered foods that are not fit for human consumption...
This site is useless if you can't track sugar.
I don't understand the "alcohol" line item for foods, and no SUGAR????
Carbs are not created equal and neither are sugars.
I am disgusted.
No one even knows what a healthy diet is. I spent almost a year living on only fat and protein. I lost 30 lbs when I didn't even intend to...nor really need to. The food pyramid is way off base.
Sugars, carbs and alcohol is what causes disease. Whoever created this website does not want you to know this.
Good luck to you....

I don't believe that sweet potatoes or fruit cause disease (unless you gorge on them for hours every day, lol) Good carbs are good.
