Retrowalking?
Has anyone tried walking backwards as part of their exercise routine?
I hear it burns more calories, less impact on knees, and increases balance. I have tried it a few times and it takes a bit of getting used to but I can feel muscles that have been worked that I haven't felt in a long time! |
I do it but I do it in reverse.

For me that would be a recipe for a head injury.

only if I were wearing a hemlet and body wrap

LOL :-)
It really isn't as difficult as it sounds as long as you prepare. On a treadmill would be great but I don't use one. I map out a section of my walk where I can do it with little risk. I make note of what landmarker I pass when I need to turn around. It's a flat, smooth and straight trail. It's also a section that few people use. I get about 400 steps in. |
I used to so this in a swimming pool..whittled my legs/butt/hips down nicely walking backwards And forwards!! :)
