Yep, 70 min full out on the elliptical, and I totally wanted to skip it this morning. Had a rough night, storms rolled through about every hour, just as I would fall asleep another one would hit. Ugh.

Good "no excuses" work Amy! When I sleep badly it's really hard to see 5 AM as a possible time of day. Congratulations - and 70 minutes!!

Thanks Abby! This Sat's race is a fast & flat and hope to put up some good numbers.
I was able to do some deadlifts & squats this morning in addition to some dumb bell work on my shoulders. |
Overslept this morning...
...been having sleeping problems too, so I really needed the rest. By the time I rolled out of bed it was too late to get started on the run I had planned. We're in for a week of 100 degree temps. The mornings usually stay nice until about 8, so when I get my butt out the door by 6 or 6:30 I can get a nice run in before the blazes hit.
I did, however, rationalize the non-run as I will have a nice yoga class this evening, so it isn't like I'm not doing anything today . Go luck on your race SW Great tenacity Amy - sometimes all it takes is a couple of grin and bear it days to get back in the habit - I hope that happens for you. Abby, you are quite the exercise queen these days! You are beginning to sound like a serious addict :D |
You guys are awesome, the fact you will read my post, and say something encouraging makes me really want to have something good to post.
I took a while off, between a cold and some oral surgery, it was really no muscle work and minimum cardio work for almost two weeks. Today I was back on the weights, after a not too strenuous warm up on an elliptical I did lunges and squats and presses and rows and flies, and crunches and pushups (off a ball) - I have lunge legs and fly shoulders, and will be achy and happy tomorrow - which should be a good day for a nice outdoor run before Irene comes to call.... It's a great workout if you do a little more than you think you can... Abby |
I got up on time this morning and put in my 70 min on the elliptical, actually I put in 71. I know that I need to mix it up, but the silly thing is just so mindless, and that's what my poor brain needs first thing in the morning. Plus it also burns a huge pile of calories, and unfortunately that's also what I need.

Almeeker,
the best exercise is the one you do, not the one you think you should be doing, so don't worry about mixing it up, if that elliptical can keep you moving for 71 minutes, give it a gold star. Abby |

Off to CrossFit this morning.
Last night's yoga was nice and mello, but my abs are still sore from last week's workout . A couple of poses that are usually pretty easy for me were kinda challenging 'cuz I had not strength in my tummy. |
