Got to the Y for a nice run - I set the tread mill for 5K loop, and was done in 28 minutes, so I added some time, and ended up at around 4 miles, did some good stretches, but was ready to nap!

Biked for 12 K. Tried some new hills up and down. Brakes working well. 3 hours shopping bruned a few calories as well. Bought a remote control lock for the house -- can't wait to try it. Hopefully won't burn too many calories installing it! Mary

Sounds like a great ride Mary! I don't recommend mechanical frustration as a weight loss technique.

I ran 2.25 miles at the Y in 20 minutes, then lifed and lunged. I was out of yogurt, so I've just had a half mango - hope that works!

At least when my hands are busy I can't eat! I have my second session with the Y trainer today - working on upper body exercises. It's a beautiful day here so I'm thinking Seadoo ride followed by bike ride after the Y. Canada day tomorrow -- likely involve swiming if the water is warm enough. Mary

Default CrossFit

Strength training: squats and deadlifts - pretty easy weights. Lots of reps

The conditioning workout... yuk! Box jumps or step ups with weights (30# in my case) and the steps are really high. Then jump rope. 10 step ups, 75 jumps. This is a AMRAP in 12: translation, As Many Reps As Possible in 12 minutes. Box jumps or step-ups are the one movement I do not like. Hard on the knees, but a huge cardo builder.

I managed 10 rounds, not too shabby for an old lady

Default How did your race go SW?

The last few days have been tied up with "extreme gardening". Landscaping actually, lots of lifting and carrying rocks, buckets of water, soil and clippings and bending to remove weeds and shrubs. So I am actually getting to use these muscles if have built over the last few months

First sailing lesson - lots of muscles used. I'll see how they feel tomorrow. Cut the grass earlier. At least 3 hours total exercise today

Wow! What a brutal 3 day weekend! Triple digit heat and lots of beer
Had a yard sale on Sat.- lots of moving heaving items around, but we did get rid of a lot stuff.

Sunday was a recovery day.....mowed the backyard with a little hair of the dog

Monday- ran a 4th Of July 5k race. This race marked my 20th race in 1 year-
Ran it in 26:02 (27:15 last year) & finished 49th/450 overall, not bad since I took almost 2 months off from injuries.

I then went on a bike ride, it was to a be short one, but I ended up riding 16 miles. My GF thought I was nuts since it was so hot out (101*), but it wasn't bad when you are moving.

Then we went to friends house with a pool and swam for at least an hour- I feel pretty good this morning, mild soreness and NO hangover today

Yes I did, first workout in a week. It was brutal, got on the elliptical and every muscle and organ in my body waged a protest through the first 30 minutes or so, but I made myself go for a full hour. Now I feel great, better than I have in a week, doh! Which hopefully will make working out easier on the morrow.

Default Turbo Fire

I survived day 2 of Turbo Fire this morning. Day 3 is actually a rest day. I hope I don't lose motivation to do day 4, because it is a 55-minute workout.
