Default correction

My husband just walked into the room and I asked him how long we did P90 and he said a little over 2 months. I'm really bad at remember time frames and I trust his memory for time lines better than mine. Anyways - I remember getting the great results in a short time.

Anyways what I wanted to suggest to you is to go to their website's forum and you'll see and hear from those ppl -- quite a few of the women were morbidly obese when they started and their after 90 days pictures were amazing--not model thin unless they did a second or third round of P90X but very impressive changes! Only a couple of them were middle aged, some don't say how old they are and when in shape they just looked young to me.
I'm in my 50's but the only ppl I saw with those amazing results who started in the morbidly obese range at my age were men. Maybe that's changed now I haven't been back to the website in about a year.
Like you, I'm only 5'2" and weighed about the same at our starting points - I was at my highest weight when I started and lost 50 pounds in that time frame - no kidding!
I tend to push myself too far so coming from a sedentary lifestyle to that kind of intense workout is why I kept injuring myself. If you took it slower & paced yourself within your own abilities not do what the ppl of the DVDs are doing I highly recommend giving it a try. I still think it was worth the investment b/c I learned so much about exercise & what my body can and can't do at this age/shape and I hope to do a full 90 days of it when I slowly ramp myself up to the level again. I lost a lot of inches very, very fast.
When I first started losing weight, I couldn't really do a push-up. Not because I'm wimpy, but just because I weighed so much, but I'm 49 pounds lighter now and can do push-ups pretty easily. Currently I workout everyday for at least an hour, but most of it is toning and cardio. I only lift weights one day a week (with 3 kids the gym is hard to get). But I'm thinking that if I hit a hard plateau I'll try P90X. I'll probably borrow my nephew's copy for a day or two to see if it's even feasible at my current weight. Right now I'm concentrating my workouts on training for a 5K. Which still seems like a really nutty idea, but there you go. Thanks for the feedback on the P90X. Just so you know, my nephew also said it was a really intense program, and he's all of 23 and flew through boot camp like a day at the beach. So if you managed to keep it up for 6 weeks you must be pretty tough.

I was afraid of getting scammed by a TV-advertisement, so I didn't want to buy into the "success stories" but I just saw your page and it made me a bit more hopeful about the program.

Is it actually risk-free? and how do you find an hour a day to commit? I just find it so difficult to make time to exercise, but if I were seeing results, it would be much easier. I'm not fat by any means, but would love to tone up for the summer. Winters are unfriendly in the Midwest - especially for those of us who are not gym-rats (:

Lastly, what did you do to drop your first 20#?

let me say a few key things. Yeah you can fell safe to click anything from me, I won't scam ya. LOL
I assume it is risk free. I never had to try to get my money back b/c I stuck to it. It will work... if you do, period.

You are looking at an hour minimum. Yoga is an hour and a half and some routines and just under an hour, followed by a 16 minute ab routine. I have to pause it quite often b/c of an elevated heart rate so must exercises took me longer than it should.

As for the 1st 20#, it was quite simple, I came up with my GOYA (Get Off Your Ass)plan. I have a ton of videos that I made to inspire and motivate others (now I'm in need of some motivation), this one explains my GOYA plan YouTube - Pre P90X & P90X week1 <click it> <click it> <click it> I dare ya. j/k

You're doing REALLY great! I think it's very doable for you any time you wanted to do it-in other words don't be afraid that you're not up to it. They tell you to adjust the positions/exercises to fit your ability & work up to their level (did I listen? Duh. In all fairness this is my first real exercise I've ever done since school & was clueless). I've always been more of a yoga/tai chi kinda gal.
You're doing so well & really making it your lifestyle, I'm inspired. For some reason I really hate doing exercise, gym-thing? dunno. Right now I'm doing a slow & easy 1 hour workout 6 days a week and am slowly building some strength-cardio intermittently. Do you have to keep pushing yourself?

I think the thing that motivated me to keep doing P90 even though I hated actually doing it was the way you see results so fast. I was building a raised flower bed while doing P90 and remember being shocked that I picked up 40 pound bags of mortar & cement at Home Depot like it was nothing. This thread is triggering those memories - I think I'll write them down to motivate me & adjust my attitude while I'm thinking of them.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I think I will definitely get the P90X the next time I hit a plateau, instead of sitting around depressed and angry I'll pull that out as my secret weapon. I'm fairly strong for an old lady, you should see the young bucks at the gym if they have to follow me on the machines... It's priceless really. But I grew up on a farm, have a compact muscular build and come from a long line of freakishly strong people, my dad in particular. The most hilarious part is that our 6 year old daughter who is what you might call "elfin", is also freakishly strong.

Do you want to know something? When I first started making myself get on the elliptical every morning, I realized that I hated it for the first 10 minutes or so. And when I say "hate" I mean sweating, gasping, every bone in my body wants off that machine. But then I get warmed up, turn up the tunes and I feel good, so then I start pushing myself to get more revolutions and to go longer. So I've decided that working out is very much like doing the dishes or doing housework, the hardest part is getting started, and that even though I don't love it, the work must be done all the same.

Default Starting P90 in May

If anyone wants to join me, I'm starting P90 again in May. We could get a thread started to keep us accountable by posting that we did it that day plus we can support each other. My stats are: I'm in my 50's, 75+ pounds overweight & very determined to complete the 90 days.

Default P90x?

Does anyone use P90x? If so, has this site helped you organize your nutrition plan? I plan on starting it this Sunday, and any input would be appreciated!

I did nearly 2 full rounds (about 160 days), I didn't use fitday on my 1st round but did on the 2nd and it did help quite a bit.
