don;t let that stop you. Sure it would probably be easier but maybe not. I did it with no problem by myself, and now I go to the gym and have a workout partner. I couldn't tell you how many times I "waited around" for my partner b/c he and his wife went out to dinner, or he worked late. In other words it can be nice to have a partner to help motivate you, but it's also nice to just go do it when YOU are ready.

As for pictures...give us all a break! You've done multiple rounds of the X and most of us are still on number one.

And speaking for myself, I intended to take before pictures and just didn't. But my shoulders are showing a lot more definition and this morning I even thought I started to see some abs showing. It got me pretty excited.

My weight loss was a little stalled, so I started adding a little 15-20 minute jog in the mornings and it has done wonders. I have had to make sure I hydrate a lot more since it's in the 90s and really humid. My clothes are just soaked when I get done, and that's at 5:30-6:00am before the sun is even hardly up. Maybe some of the pounds have been a lot of water weight, but I do miss that long, easy jog that burns fat more readily. Sometimes I think the X workouts get my heart rate up too high and my breathing coming too fast (like in plyo), meaning my muscles aren't getting the oxygen they need to burn fat.

I'm rounding out the end of week three for me and looking forward to phase 2. I still can't do more than one or two pullups, but I have started doing more of the kind where you use a chair to get up, then use you own muscle to lower yourself slowly. I'm hoping those might help me gain some muscle in my back in the meantime.

Even with weekend plans an parties, I've kept pretty on track and have yet to miss a workout. Hope everyone else is still trucking along and doing well! Glad to see all the new faces on here.

wannabefitgirl,

pullups can be difficult but will eventually get easier. A chair will help for sure. My HR got way to high also, and now I'm working on getting that figured out.

Default Its a great program

I have been doing P90X for a year now off an on. No other workout program is as complete as P90X. I now log my results online at Welcome to BringIT : The online P90X Workout Log

Great workout

Unhappy

I did the P90X Lean version about a couple months ago. The scale didn't budge even though I was hoping to drop 5-10 lbs. I'm 5'4 and 130 lbs and wanted to get down to 120 or even 125. I didn't complete the series (skipped last couple weeks) because I felt really discouraged. Everyone else said I looked better but I really wanted to drop a few lbs. I followed the meal plan pretty well (not perfectly) but now I'm just trying to maintain. I'm still trying to drop the extra weight but not sure what to do. A friend suggested Insanity but I don't want to go through such an intense workout system without the results I want again. Any advice?

@sharon

I find I never drop much weight on the P90X program either, maybe a few pounds in the beginning, if that, even if I do notice all the muscle tone. This time around, I again wasn't dropping any pounds, until I added a 20 minute jog on to my morning workout. That helped get a few pounds off, so I'll keep tweeking it to get where I want to be.

In general, I've found running/jogging to be the best weight loss workout for me. I don't run at breakneck speed or anything, just a nice long steady run that keeps me breathing deeply. I've done some reading about how long steady exercise will help burn fat more effeciently than overly vigorous exercise because the muslces need oxygen to burn fat and when you're working out so hard that you're short of breath, your body can't burn fat and turns to a quick sugar burn instead. There are all kinds of things that change this theory (super fit people and super unfit people, etc.), but it's a good general rule.

I actually even did the Power 90 program, the prequel to P90X and had great weight loss results from that. It's another 90 day program; roughly 12 weeks, and I again worked in additional running/walking on lighter days. I lost about a pound a week, sometimes more, and really loved my results. Not to mention it definitely prepped my body for the X workouts.

Best of luck to you!

So I just finished phase 1 of the X and feel pretty good. Overall I really got a handle on my binge eating on weekends, which I think helped a lot (did eat too many tortilla chips yesterday....but I'm really not being myself up for it since I ran in the morning, did the core workout, and walked all over the town/beach for a festival in the afternoon).

Anyway, just wanted to say that I've lost a couple of pounds and a total of 4.5 inches from various places on my body (namely the hips). I see some muscle definition in my shouders and even a little in my abs, which is making me happy. I love that if I happen to touch my stomach through my shirt, it feels slightly hard now!

I also took a little body fat measurement and I get a BF of 19.3%. When I use an online calculator, it says more like a high 18% (like 18.6 or 18.8). Either way, that dropped a little during phase one as well.

I'm full speed ahead into phase 2 starting tomorrow morning. I know the X is designed to peak late (as in phase 3), so I'm not looking to have a ton of losses in the weight department during the next couple of weeks. But that's more of a mental battle than a physical one.

I'm even starting to think about doing a second round. I think all the beachbody recommendations say to wait about two weeks in between rounds. Has anyone else heard this or followed it? 01gt, you said you've done a couple rounds of the X so I'm curious as to how much time you took off between rounds. I feel like a week would be sufficient, just knowing my body would be healed in that amount of time, but would like to hear your opinion.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Default P90X Graduate

Hi - I recently finished P90X in May. I lost about 15 lbs and 5 inches on my waist and legs. I loved P90X. I have to admit you really have to push yourself because working out 6 days a week can be difficult to keep motivated. Do you have any roommates or friends that would do the program with you? I think having someone there to motivate you really helps. Are you on the teambeachbody.com website? You can add me as a buddy and I'll send you encouraging words! I know it helps to have someone to cheer you on. I did the program with my husband.

I am currently doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid workout. It's kicking my butt

If you have any questions about the program, please email me at [email protected]. I have lots of information and got really good at modifying the nutrition plan - so you get more variety.

If your feeling like your results have stalled, you may want to make sure your eating enough. I had that problem when I did P90X. Once I started eating more, the weight/inches went down much faster.
