Getting Enough Potassium on Low-Carb Diet
I've noticed that I'm falling very short of the recommended amount of potassium. I already take a daily multi-vitamin, but it doesn't include any. Other than taking a supplement in pill form, is there a good food source for potassium that works well on a low carb diet?

Thanks for the link. I eat prunes every day and bananas most days, but they're not exactly low carb! I see beef is right there--I guess that would be perfect for low carbers.

Avocados are your friend on low carb. They have more potassium than a banana and are low carb.

The best source I know for potassium (besides baked potatoes with skin on, which are obviously out in this case) is mushrooms, having lots of potassium and other minerals etc and very, very few calories. Plus they can be added to most things if chopped small or sliced thinly without even being noticed.
Hope it helps :) |

Also, there is a "salt substitute" that has potassium in it. look for it in with salt/spices at the grocery store. but, just check yourself, are you sure you are deficient? only a blood test can tell for sure, so maybe if it's time for labs, have it checked to reassure yourself. good luck!
