Research suggests that saffron may help reduce appetite and aid in weight management, particularly for those with obesity. A 2023 study found that taking 60 mg of saffron per day for 12 weeks was more effective than a placebo in reducing body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, and weight. Similarly, a 2017 study found that a extract supplement led to reductions in appetite, BMI, waist circumference, and total fat mass after 8 weeks of use.

It’s completely understandable to be concerned about how dieting might affect breastfeeding. The key is to focus on gradual, healthy weight loss rather than a strict or rapid diet. As a breastfeeding mom, your body needs extra calories to produce milk, so it’s important not to cut calories too drastically. Instead, focus on eating nutrient-dense foods like lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, which will support both your energy levels and milk production. Make sure to stay hydrated, as water plays a crucial role in milk supply. Gentle exercise, like walking or postpartum-friendly workouts, can also help in your weight loss journey without affecting breastfeeding. It’s all about balance taking care of yourself while ensuring your baby gets the nutrition they need.

Yes, there are many natural ways of losing weight but again my it depends on a persons taste and likings. For instance, green tea is the best for weight loss, but again I cannot have it even for a single time.

Congratulations on your new journey to health, and kudos for being motivated postpartum!

Weight loss after pregnancy can be challenging, but it’s absolutely achievable with a balanced approach. Here are some steps to help you get started:
  1. Set Realistic, Gradual Goals: Postpartum weight loss often works best when approached gradually, focusing on 0.5-1 kg per week. This approach ensures that you’re nourishing yourself, especially if you’re breastfeeding, which increases calorie needs.
  2. Focus on Nutrient-Dense Meals: Aim for meals rich in lean proteins (like chicken, tofu, or legumes), whole grains (like oats and quinoa), and healthy fats (avocado, nuts). For example, a breakfast of oatmeal topped with fruit and chia seeds is both filling and nutritious.
  3. Incorporate Light Exercise: Start with gentle activities like walking or postpartum yoga, then gradually increase intensity based on your recovery and energy levels. Regular activity, even just 20-30 minutes a day, can aid weight loss and boost mood and energy.
  4. Stay Hydrated and Prioritize Sleep: Hydration supports metabolism and recovery. While sleep is often interrupted postpartum, try to get rest when you can. Lack of sleep can impact hunger hormones, making it harder to lose weight.
  5. Track Progress but Be Kind to Yourself: Tracking your food and activity can help keep you on course, but remember that postpartum recovery is different for everyone. Celebrate small wins, and know that you’re making progress by focusing on health and balance.
These tips can help you set a strong foundation for healthy weight loss. Take it one step at a time, and enjoy the journey of rediscovering your strength!

Yes, there are definitely natural ways to lose weight, but it really depends on what works for each person. For example, eating more fruits and vegetables is great for weight loss, but I struggle to stick to that because I’m not a fan of some veggies. It’s all about finding what fits your lifestyle!

I suggest that you should control your eating, not that you leave it all, just replace some portion of your food and later you could increase the same. Such as you can skip dinner and inplace of it you could have some good healthy salads.

I get it, I struggled too after pregnancy. Gentle exercises like walking and balanced meals helped me a lot. Be kind to yourself, it takes time!

Agreed! Also note down that at the beginning of this journey, your weight loss will be quite quick, but once you lose couple of pounds, you might face difficulties to lose even a single pound.
