Default Healthy Diet

Humans need a wide range of nutrients to lead a healthy and active life. For providing these nutrients, good nutrition or proper intake of food in relation to the bodyís dietary needs is required. An adequate, well balanced diet combined with regular physical activity is a cornerstone of good health. Poor nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced productivity.

Since a healthy diet consists of different kinds of foods, the emphasis has been shifted from nutrient orientation to the food based approach. Foods can be categorized according to the function as-
Energy rich foods (Carbohydrates and fats)
Body building foods (Proteins)
Protective foods (Vitamins and minerals)

Being physically active and eating fewer calories will help you lose weight and keep weight off over time. Weight should be reduced gradually.

Tips to reduce body weight:
  • Never use drugs for losing weight, it can be dangerous
  • Diets which you are using to reduce weight should be rich in proteins and low in carbohydrates and fats
  • Increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables
  • Eat at frequent intervals
  • Decrease the consumption of sugar, salt, fatty foods, refined foods, soft drinks and fast food.
  • Prefer low- fat milk/ toned milk.
  • Include physical activity in your daily routine like aerobics, walk, yoga etc.

You can take a healthy diet to make your body strong. Take lots of colorful vegetables, legumes/beans. eat fruit. Eat cereal (cereal) foods - mostly whole grains and high-fiber varieties. Consumption of lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds. Eat dairy products like milk, yogurt, cheese or their substitutes, which are mostly low in fat. And drink plenty of water. This diet will help you maintain your body.

A healthy diet should be followed to stay healthy and fit. Well I suggest you a balanced diet chart to make a healthy body and mind. You should eat lots of vegetables and fruits. This is one of the most important dietary habits. Choose whole grain foods, eat protein rich foods. Limiting excessive and ultra-processed foods. Make water your drink of choice.
