Lemon Detox diet??? yay or nay....

hey, I am thinking of trying the Master Cleanse ( lemon detox diet ), one to lose weight but to also detox by body. I was just wondering whether anyone had tried it and if you found it successful or not....

Thanks
Emma

Wouldn't waste your time/money personally. Go on a raw food diet for a month and you'll detox your body just fine.

thanks, are you talking from experience???

No personal experience, but my co-worker had a lot of stomach problems after doing this; they seemed to linger for a while.

Cleansing in general is a waste of money IMO, at best it gives you diarrhea and you might drop a few quick pounds due to dehydration. Your kidneys and liver "cleanse" you all the time, so if you eat clean (avoid preservatives and artificial colors/flavors, basically eat fresh minimally processed foods) your body will cleanse itself just fine.

I have done the master cleanser and I found it helped me. I have also done it for a day or two and experienced a lot of hunger and been unable to continue. I think my attitude toward food during those times was the big difference. I don't like the saltwater flush, so I do the smooth move tea in the am and in the pm. As far as wasting money, it doesn't cost much to drink the lemonade several times a day - probably cheaper than what you spend on food in a normal day. I love the spicy lemonade and try limes too, in fact I think I like the limeade better than the lemon! I do find myself craving the lemonade even when I'm not planning on doing the cleanse, because it really tastes good!

Love and peace

I did this detox for 3 days. I didn't use the cayenne pepper in it (talked with several people who experienced burning with bowel movements...not into torture!), and I also only used the smooth move. I got good results. I saw a lot of mucus and bits of "stuff" floating in the toilet. My coated tongue was gone by the 3rd day. My skin brightened and looked healthier, also.

I would suggest you follow the advice that says you should taper down your heavier foods for a day or two before, and return to solid heavier foods slowly.

I tried a modified version, just drinking the 'lemonade' w/cayenne. The version I had said to mix fresh squeezed lemon and maple syrup in a 50/50 combination. Then put 3 Tbs of this a a dash of cayenne pepper in 8 oz of water and drink a glass every 3 hours (5 a day I think).

I admit I was doing it as a kick start to getting the crap out of my system. Honestly, I lasted one day but I can't say it was the fault of the cleanse. I actually felt more clearheaded and had a lot of energy that day than I had been in a long time.

I think it's a lot like any other fad though. Once you go off it and on to another diet, you'll regain whatever you've lost.

Yeah I tried it and loss my weight of 10 kilograms within 1 month by following the rules in accidentalhealthnut.com/tag/lemon-detox/. My suggestion is if you also want to loss your weight just go through this site which I mentioned above. You will definitely get satisfied.
Regards.

I did the Master Cleanse for 10 days and lost 15 lbs. I felt really tired and worn down on this cleanse and 5lbs came back almost overnight when I began eating solid foods again.
