The Best Portable Equipment for Exercising on the Go

Which exercise equipment is best for your workout program? If you are on the go, portability is key. Let’s take a closer look at the top portable gym options.

If you are someone who is always on the go, you may not have time to hit your favorite gym regularly. You need something that you can either take with you to work and do on your lunch break, take with you as you travel across the country with your career or just something that you can easily do at home when you have a few spare minutes.

The good news is that you don’t need a full-scale commercial gym to get great results. You just need a little creativity and the right portable exercise equipment.

Let’s go over a few of the top options that you should consider.

Resistance Bands

First up on the list of great portable exercise equipment options are resistance bands. These come in many different resistance levels, making it easy to progress as you get stronger. And, the more you wrap the band around the hands (or feet) as you do the exercises you’re doing, the more overall resistance they will provide. So it’s easy to customize your workouts with this piece of equipment.

You can perform almost all the same exercises using resistance bands as you can a set of dumbbells, so this gives you great versatility when building strength is your goal.

Ab Wheel

Want to hit those abs? While an exercise ball is a great piece of equipment to have, it’s not exactly portable given its size. A better option? An ab wheel. Ab wheel roll-outs are an incredibly intense abdominal exercise and can also stimulate the shoulders, chest, and back as well.

They’re also small enough that you can easily pack them, making them a terrific option here.

Glute Band

A glute band is similar to a resistance band only this one loops around and is meant to be placed around both legs. From there, you can do a variety of lower body exercises that will help to strengthen your glutes and enhance your core strength. Given how lightweight it is, it’s another that’s very easy to pack and take along with you.

Skipping Rope

Finally, to help get that cardio work in, try a skipping rope. Skipping ropes are great in that they can provide a very high-intensity cardio workout and can be easily packed in any purse, briefcase, or travel bag.

All you need to get skipping is an open space and a good pair of running shoes, so this is one piece of exercise equipment you don’t want to miss out on.

So keep these portable exercise equipment options in mind and don’t let lack of time be a barrier any longer for reaching your fitness goals.
