Riding exercise bikes can be a great part of any workout routine. It may interest you to learn, however, that there are a number of tips that can help you get the most out of your exercise bike rides.

1. Properly Position Yourself

Before proceeding to your ride your exercise bike, you must first make sure that the seat is positioned in a manner that allows your feet to easily touch the petals. Additionally, make a point of adjusting the handlebars to a height that will enable your weight to be equally distributed between your arms and posterior.

2. Warm Yourself Up

You will need to engage in a 10-minute warm up. Once you've gotten onto your bike, peddle at a steady pace of 8 to 10 miles per hour for 10 minutes, after which you'll be free to peddle at the speed of your choosing, be it faster or slower than your warm up speed. This warm up exercise will help you build the resistance and stamina needed for prolonged exercise bike rides.

3. Make Sure to Pedal Properly

When riding exercise bikes, it is important to exert pressure for the entirety of each peddle stroke as opposed to just exerting pressure for each stroke's downward portion. This practice is referred to as "pedaling in circles" and it will help elevate your heart rate. As pedaling in circles can be physically demanding, don't forget to take periodic breaks, especially if you're new to the concept.
