Everything You Need to Know About the Caviar and Gold Facials Favored by the Kardashians

The Kardashian-Jenner clan are reality TV royalty, but in the years since their show gave them a platform, they have proven themselves as beauty and fashion moguls. And it seems there is not much they wouldn’t try out in the name of beauty. Kim Kardashian has been known to have a vampire facial, although she’s since sworn she will never do that again because it was too painful, but this is just one of the many unusual facials this family has tried out, and below is everything you need to know about the gold and caviar facials favored by the family.

For most of us, gold is the precious metal kept for fancy jewelry, but for celebrities (and other beauty lovers with a large budget) 24-carat gold facials have become all the rage. But Kim Kardashian has opted for something different, a treatment using gold-plated needles called the AQUAGOLD facial treatment. Kardashian spoke about the “golden cocktail facial” on social media, linking a video to the beauty page of her website, where she claimed the treatment left her skin "feeling SO hydrated and refreshed," and also made her glow.

According to Lifeplus Clinics, Kardashian used the treatment ahead of the 2018 Met Gala event, and it's believed to be great for giving the skin a boost and a youthful glow ahead of events because, as the site claims, it evens out texture, improves tone, and helps remove lines and wrinkles. But what exactly does it do? The treatment contains a mixture of solutions that are added to an “individual microchannel needling device, with 20 gold plated needles each finer than a human hair.”

Putting Kim Kardashian aside for a minute, her sisters Khloé and Kourtney have also been known to try out different beauty treatments, and in 2017, they shared their caviar facials on Snapchat. Kourtney referred to the treatment as “luxury oxygen bubble caviar facials with Nurse Jamie.” Nurse Jamie is a skincare expert for A-listers and boasts the Kardashian clan as fans.

According to Daily Mail, the nutrient-rich caviar from the sturgeon fish is meant to help fight signs of aging, including wrinkles. The publication notes that among the nutrients found in caviar are “Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamins B6 and B12 as well as vitamin A and vitamin D.”
