Antiperspirant deodorants may work wonders in the hot weather and keep your armpits dry and sweat-free, but when inhibiting a normal bodily function there are bound to be some downsides; firstly, your stopping your body from doing something it’s meant to do, like regulate temperatures, then there are the ingredients (namely aluminum) that go into making these deodorants which can be absorbed into the body and the fact that they temporarily block sweat ducts. Don’t sweat it (pun intended) because there is an alternative, and that alternative comes in the form of natural deodorants.
According to Allure, these natural alternatives are made without aluminum and will still leave you smelling great. Although you will sweat, you won’t smell bad. There are many products on the market, but not all are made equal, and the publication has tested a few which they recommend, among these products are Corpus Third Rose Deodorant. In addition to great packaging, this brand also has a very natural smell and is described as not being overpowering.
Another brand that has been recommended, this time by Cosmopolitan, is Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus deodorant, which is green not only in the fact that it’s natural, but the packing is also covered in green writing. According to the publication, it has a clear stick and has no colored residue, and feels nourishing to the skin. But perhaps the most appealing part is it survived a yoga class.
Another natural product recommended by the publication is from Lush, which happens to be a favorite. Lush has The Greench deodorant powder, which goes from a light green powder to completely invisible when rubbed on the armpits. It has a neutral smell and is absorbent.
Glamour notes that the Tarte Clean Queen Vegan Deodorant exceeded expectations of natural deodorants and is one of the best when it comes to scent and staying power.
If you want a deodorant that looks really good, then perhaps you need to purchase Agent Nateur No. 3 Deodorant. Although it’s not just its appearance that's worth mentioning. According to Well + Good, the ingredients include baking soda, honey, and coconut oil, and doesn’t stain the underarms or have an overwhelming smell.
