4 Pieces of Exercise Equipment That Are Worth Splurging On

Home gym equipment can get pretty pricy so it’s great to know your options. There are a few pieces of equipment that you definitely do want to look into getting. Let’s look at what these are.

If you are getting ready to build your own home gym, you’ll likely be taking into account all the different types of equipment you can buy. As you’ll likely soon come to realize, this decision can be quite a pricey venture. Fitness equipment doesn’t always come cheap so you’ll have to choose your splurges wisely. Unless you have an unlimited budget, some pieces of equipment are a lot better to buy than others.

Let’s take a closer look at which are worth their cost.

A Squat Rack

One of the best exercises you can perform when it comes to your weight lifting workout session is the squat. You’ll be hard-pressed to perform the squat correctly however unless you have a squat rack in your home.

Without it, you simply cannot lift enough weight up to your shoulders to see the results you are looking for. A squat rack allows you to do this, thus fully challenge yourself and see progress in your strength and lower body size.

A Barbell With Plate Weight

Along with your squat rack, you’ll also want to invest in a barbell with plate weight. This will be a given for doing squats, but it can also come in handy for other exercises as well.

One of the reasons this is worth investing in is because you can do so many different exercises with it. You can easily complete barbell rows, shoulder press, deadlifts, and even walking lunges if you have enough room.

With this single piece of equipment (and the squat rack above), you can essentially complete an entire workout session.

A Weight Bench

To go with your squat rack, it’s also a wise move to get a good quality weight bench — preferably one that goes up to an incline. This will allow you to do all the many different chest exercises, plus also give you a stable place to sit to do exercises such as seated barbell press, seated dumbbell curls, tricep skull crushers, and so on. It’s the last piece of equipment to complete your strength training protocol.

Your Favorite Cardio Machine

Finally, you’ll also want to check out your favorite cardio machine. While you can always go for a jog or bike ride outside instead, often the weather or time of day may prohibit you from doing so.

If you have a piece of cardio equipment at home, nothing is going to stop you from getting it done.

Skipping at home is also a relatively cost-effective option as well, but for many people, it is too hard on the joints to be done on a daily basis.

Whether you choose a bike, elliptical or treadmill, having one of these in your home is a smart move.

So there you have the top pieces of fitness equipment to consider adding to your home gym. Invest in these and they will serve you well.
