Regardless of the amount of weight you want to lose Weight Watchers and the app My Fitness Pal are great tools! Not sure what works best for you but WW has a great support system. WW is very affordable and MFP is free. Hope that helps!

Default No Magic

Start walking daily. Push yourself to go further each day. Move up to more aerobic exercise as your body allows. Eat small bits all day long of really healthy food. Don't eat after 7pm. Try to consume most of your calories by early afternoon. Use FITDAY accurately, no fudging. If you ate a cup of almonds, make sure you log it. The accountability is staggeringly motivating. Once you make a daily habit of trying to have your expenditure greater than your intake, you'll be surprised at how the weight just falls away (50 lbs, 6 months) -

Green tea doesn't work for me! I was successful with Lipovon!

You can work on boosting your metabolism, there are things we can do to naturally boost it. Be sure to have a good breakfast, you need to jump start your metabolism first thing in the morning to burn the most calories possible throughout the day. Studies show that eating breakfast can increase your resting metabolism for the rest of the day by as much as 10%. A healthy breakfast of fruit and yogurt, or a piece of whole wheat toast and a couple of eggs. You just need something simple and healthy to alert your body to start working.

Vitamin B is key in turning carbs, fats and proteins into energy. When you don’t get enough your metabolism slows down, leaving you fatigued, possibly depressed and at risk for diseases. Try adding more spinach, melon, broccoli, and lean proteins like beans, fish and eggs to your diet to stock up on B vitamins. You’ll notice the increase in energy right away.

Magnesium is needed to make your metabolism work efficiently with every muscle, nerve and heart cell in your body. It’s also the same mineral that most people aren’t getting enough of. Many of the same green veggies that are stocked with vitamin b are also rich in magnesium! Sprinkle a few nuts on a spinach salad or snack on some edamame to get a boost of magnesium.

After age 35, you lose .5% of muscle mass every year, and after age 60 it just gets worse. Fight this slowdown by building up lean muscle mass with strength and resistance training- your body’s metabolic rate increases when you have more muscle mass to maintain. Research also suggests that resistance training may increase life expectancy – it’s a win-win.

Your metabolism likes smaller meals more often and processes them more efficiently than large heavy meals. In fact, saving all of your calories and eating two heavy meals during the day is one of the surest ways to SLOW DOWN your metabolism. Try eating 5 times a day combining 3 light meals with 2 healthy snacks.

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, a method of exercise that is about short, intense workouts that usually last about 20 minutes. It has been shown to burn fat more effectively than being on the treadmill for hours on end. I don’t recommend doing this every day, but incorporating HIIT into your fitness regime twice a week can amp up your metabolism and shock your body to stimulate fat loss.

Avoid white carbohydrates - bread, rice, cereal, potatoes, pasta, and fried food with breading. If you avoid eating anything white, you’ll be in good shape. Get tons of sleep in order to keep levels of ghrelin low, which increases appetite, and decreases leptin, the protein hormone that tells you when you’re full.

Hope this serves of some useful information.

God Bless
You seem to know so much about metabolism and weight loss! I was told I had a slow metabolism but I don't know what to do to fix it!! My diet isn't unhealthy but I have difficulty getting in exercise now due to health problems. I eat 4-5 small meals a day. I eat all home cooked, non-processed foods. Whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish. I don't drink alcohol, not often anyway and if I do, it's usually a glass of red wine. I only drink one cup of coffee a day, some herbal teas and water...a LOT of water! I may have a cookie now and then or a piece of chocolate or a small dish of ice cream. I'm not a snacker, so chips and other snack foods aren't an issue for me. I always eat breakfast, usually an egg and toast with berries or whole grain cereal with milk and berries. I take a multiple vitamin, plus extra Vit D, Vit B12, magnesium and calcium. I also get vitamin B12 injections every month. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?? My doctors don't believe me when I tell them I eat healthy and I don't really eat over my calories either. They just raise an eyebrow and tell me to exercise but THEY of ALL people should know how difficult that is for me!! I just heard about the adapted Mediterranean diet, which is low carb and designed for diabetics and people with metabolic syndrome. This will actually add more fat in my diet with more olive oil than I already use and nuts, which I rarely eat. Otherwise, it's just adjusting what I already eat by slight amounts. Do you have any words of wisdom for me, Obi Wan?? 😉 I'm open to suggestions...just don't tell me to exercise!! LMAO 😂
