Talking Insanity anyone?

Hello fellow fitdayers! I just recently began Shaun T's Insanity HIIT/Plyometrics workout, and I've added in Jillian's 30 day shred to the mix 2x's a week. Anyone currently doing the Insanity 60 day challenge? I would love to hear about your experiences with Insanity. So far I really like it, it feels very effective, not to mention I sweat buckets during the workout.

I'm about to start the program on Saturday. How has it been working for you? Do you follow the meal plan as well? I have been trying to find blogs from people that are using the program to see how they are progressing but it's not that easy to find. Lots of people are posting about P90X but not-so-much about Insanity.

I am finishing up week 4 of insanity and love it!!! I am actually addicted to it now. I read on the beach body message boards about fitday and I love being able to keep track of my calories. Great website! Good luck with Insanity!!!

i may start the program over from the beginning - the great thing about it is that since you work to your limit you can do it over and over again
i love it

I think Insanity is a great program and I feel like a superstar everytime I finish a workout. My friends saw me doing a workout and thought I was insane. Hence the name

I think you read more about P90X because its an overall workout plan instead of just cardio. I think Insanity works really well when combined with P90X- thats what i am currently doing. Replaced all the cardio in P90X with Insanity videos.

My husband and I finished Insanity this January and loved it. It sure was a kick in the butt and we were always dripping sweat. We followed the diet plan and loved the recipes. I lost 15 pounds doing it. We now mix Insanity with other workouts and resistance training throughout the week. When we want cardio we usually choose an Insanity DVD or P90X plyo. They still keep us sweating.

Good luck and have fun!

I just posted to an Insanity thread in the diets forum, before seeing this topic.

I recently got some of the Insanity DVDs from a friend, and have tried a few of the workouts. My question for those who have done this program, and weren't hardcore cardio freaks before starting: how did you adapt to the workouts initially? I find I'm barely able to make it through a warmup without breaks, and I almost feel like I'm spending more time resting/catching my breath than actually exercising during the workout.

I've never been a cardio person: used to work out with weights almost exclusively, and had the naturally fast metabolism until injuries & surgeries kept me away from the weights. Now, at 37, and 20+ lbs heavy, I need to both lose weight and start working against some bad genetics heart-wise.

I'm curious how difficult the workouts were for you at the start (I feel like I'm getting maybe 30, 35% of the total reps/intensity/endurance compared to what's on tape--most of the time, my jaw is on the floor, amazed that those machines on screen look so human...), how long it took you to adapt, if you made any changes or eased into it slowly... thanks for any tips or advice you might be able to share.
