Lightbulb how to stop kitchen nibbling

Chew gum when preparing food. You won't be as tempted to add those extra calories from this habit. Often such nibbling is mindless and we typically underestimate the number of calories this adds up to.

I always keep a glass of cold water nearby while cooking too. If I want a nibble I take a drink. Usually helps.

At night, I am often hungry when I start to prepare dinner. It helps to have a small snack of "allowed" food before I start to cook - prevents nibbling while cooking and overeating at dinner.

I like the chewing gum idea. I think that would work best for me.

Protein is IMO the best appetite suppressant. It is impossible to eat a lot of protein and not get sick to the stomach. If you don't believe me try this.

Cook 12 hard boiled eggs and then try eating the all at once or try drinking a gallon of skimmed milk.

Protein is difficult to digest and it takes calories/energy to digest it.
