Hi
HI, my name is Christy Castillo. I am trying to lose 100 lbs. I just recently had a baby and I gained 50 lbs. I was already 50lbs over weight. I am having a hard time because I am also breastfeeding. It seems like it is making it harder to lose than faster. I want to get back into running like I used to. I have ran a few marathins and some small races. My DH and I are planning on going on a cruise in October, so I atleast want to lose 50-60lbs by then. Anyone have any advise!!

There are alot of great topics like this on this site i believe, but what I can tell you is start out by walking every day for at least 50-60 minutes and somewhat of a good pace and gradually each week add more distance to your walking.Second I would cut calories down to a total of no more than 1500 per day possibly less it all depends on how your body decides on it.

Hi Christy, Welcome! Basscat is right, there is alot of great info to be found on this site, read through the topics, I know you will find them motivating; I sure have! I think tracking your food honestly, and diligently is important. It gives you a good snapshot of your eating habits, and you can clearly see where you can make the changes required to get healthy. All the best, keep posting!

Breastfeeding actually helps with weight loss as it burns extra calories. As long as you are choosing healthy foods, and keeping the calories low enough you will lose weight and the baby will not be deprived of important nutrients. Adding some walking is a great idea too.
