The Official Unisex 100+ Pounds to Lose Thread

By popular demand, here is the Official Unixex 100+ Pounds to Lose Thread.

I prefer to weigh in on Saturday mornings, but to each his/her own!

Here's the highlights of my history so far:

May 4th 400++ lbs. (my scale's limit is 400 lbs--wearing Levis size 60!)
June 19 393 lbs.
July 31 370 lbs.
Aug 21 356 lbs.
Sept 26 339 lbs.
Oct 30 329 lbs.
Nov 25 311 lbs. (Wearing Levis size 46 :-)

This is a great place to support one another--with all due respect to everyone else here (and I appreciate all of you), only those who have walked (painfully) in our shoes can fully understand the challenges of having 100, 200 or more pounds to lose.

Regards,
Michael

I totally understand your pain Michael!

I'm almost half way through my journey now, but I'm looking to lose 140lbs total.

June 2010 - 298lbs, UK size 22-24.
December 2010 - 228lbs, UK size 16-18.

I also weigh-in on Saturdays, so if I'm welcome here I will post my results.

Thanks for starting this, Michael. It's going to be a long, 190lb journey ahead for me, and I can only wish it's as fulfilling as my first two and a half weeks have been, and that I have something like your and Boo's success.

My limited highlights are in my signature, but I hope to have an epic story to tell by the time I'm done.

I'm really glad there's an experienced community to reach out to when the inevitable tough times come.

Be well,

Matt

Michael, glad you started this because I just came back from my doctor and things do not look good. I am at my highest weight. Don't let the User name fool you. I have only been GAINING lately and that is due to serious water retention and my heart condition which really should be my critical need and motivator to lose. I was told to reduce sodium to 1000 mg daily, reduce fluids to 32 ozs daily, and I'm trying to keep calories under 1600 and to try to walk for 40 minutes daily and tone lightly on alternate days.

As I said I have been gaining and here it is:

12/2010- 270
01/2010 - 264
2009 - 251
2008 - 246
2006 - 234
2004 - 224
2001 - 218
1999 - 206
1998 - 194
1996 - 186
1996 - 182
1995 -170 which is when all my medical problems started occuring.

I lose water weight quickly when I stick to the plan and I look forward to weighing in on Saturdays. Thanks Guys for helping to save my life. Oh I am a female and just 62 inches in height.

Welcome, skinnybonz. We're here for you. Hopefully we can all help each other through the process. Luckily, we have some pretty serious success stories in the thread.

I'll be away for the weekend, so won't have access to my home scale until Sunday night, but I'll jump on the Saturday train next week.

Boo, glad to have you on board--congrats on the awesome progress so far.

SBonz, welcome! My wife is 5'2" and 299 lbs so I know where you're at (for whatever reason, she has no *major* health issues (yet)). Your plan sounds good and I'll bet the weight will peel off quickly.

Detroit, have a great weekend!

I've been pretty good this week, but last Friday and Saturday at camp I figure my intake was greater than my calorie burn so we'll see at weigh-in. I'd be happy to see 309/310 but less would be better!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Michael

I don't know if I'm welcome here or not, but I would love to jump in every now and then. I still have about 20lbs to go, which seems to be taking forever, and after which I have to figure out a way to maintain it. Anyway, glad to see a 100+ thread for both genders.

The more the merrier, almeeker. I've read tons of your posts and they, and your transformation, is inspirational to me. I know i would be thrilled to benefit from your experience.

Enjoy your weekend everyone (I know I'm starting a day early).

Matt

Detriotbreakdown, did you know for a few days after you joined I was trying to figure out if you were a relative of mine? So I have done some careful screening of your posts as well, I like your approach and I feel pretty confident in saying that I fully believe you will reach your goals.

DetroitBreakdown 12-02-2010 04:13 PM

almeeker, I'm honored by your faith and plan to prove you right!

Here's hoping this is a place of success and support for all.
